The Next Global Art Powerhouse
Chinese painting
"Expansion" is a six-foot-long, multicolored abstract created by Chinese painter Chu Teh-Chun in 2006. The painting's title could also sum up the ambition of Art HK: The Hong Kong International Art Fair, where the work sold Wednesday to a Chinese buyer for around $900,000.
Since its kickoff five years ago, Art HK has grown into Asia's pre-eminent art fair, drawing over 60,000 people a year into a warren of booths that spread across a pair of vast halls in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
CloseEuropean Pressphoto Agency
'I Didn't Notice What I Am Doing,' pictured here, by Sun Yuan and Peng Yu., on view at the fair.
This year, at least 700 galleries applied for the fair's 266 slots, said fair director Magnus Renfrew. Several dealers, like Shanghai's Pearl Lam and Paris's Emmanuel Perrotin, waited until fair week to debut their new gallery outposts in Hong Kong. Luxury brands Veuve Clicquot and Shanghai Tang threw late-night parties to coincide with the event.
All of it dovetails with Hong Kong's long-term plans to become a year-round, art-selling hub to rival London or New York—an aspiration wedded to Asia's wealth boom.
There's still an unpredictable energy to Art HK, as Western galleries—who make up about half the fair's dealers—anxiously try to nail down the shifting tastes and spending habits of newer Asian collectors, who are the real power players here.
The mood has been mostly upbeat. Few booths are sold out entirely, but major galleries like Pace are reporting steady sales for works priced under $1 million, thanks mainly to buyers from Asia and Europe. Dealers said at least 300 Australian collectors signed up to attend, happy to have a fair comparatively close to home.
famous paintings
On the other hand, American collectors, who typically flock to major art fairs world-wide, have proven surprisingly scarce. Dealers reasoned that Americans might have gotten their fix at Frieze, a London fair that debuted its own New York edition two weeks ago. Others are also likely saving up for next month's Art Basel, the Swiss contemporary art fair whose owner MCH Group recently bought a majority ownership stake in Art HK. (Next spring, Art HK will be renamed Art Basel Hong Kong.) The fair closes Sunday.</p>
<p>On Wednesday, a reliable group of well-known collectors turned out for the fair's VIP preview, including François Pinault, Christie's owner; Uli Sigg, a former Swiss ambassador to China; Rudy Tseng, a former Walt Disney executive from Taiwan and Richard Chang, the Beijing director of investment firm Tira Holdings. </p>
<p>The galleries also worked to make first-timers feel comfortable. London's Annely Juda Gallery taped up a sign in Mandarin offering to divulge prices for its offerings—something dealers usually just whisper to prospective buyers on a case-by-case basis. Dealer David Juda also placed a small sticker shaped like a red dot beside David Hockney's $950,000 painting of a log, "Felled Totem, September 8th, 2009," to indicate that the work in that booth had already found a buyer. Mr. Juda doesn't apply stickers at other fairs, but he said, "I heard it was a good idea here to reassure people when works are sold."
Chinese calligraphy </p>
<p>Plenty of galleries dangled new works by Asian artists in their rosters. In one of the most elaborate displays, the Gagosian Gallery added a carpeted side room to its booth to showcase a pair of new pencil drawings of trees by Zeng Fanzhi, a Chinese painter who is better known for his colorful portraits of men wearing white masks. The gallery used the other walls of this antechamber to offer up paintings by Pablo Picasso, Alberto Giacometti and Claude Monet. The lofty comparison may have helped: Mr. Zeng's drawings sold on the first day for an undisclosed sum.</p>
<p>London dealer Stephane Custot, who sold the Chu Teh-Chun abstract, also brought a $2.2 million Picasso musketeer painting, 1969's "Bust of a Man." But so far, he said passersby had gravitated to their hometown favorite: "It's easier here to sell a Chu Teh-Chun than a Picasso."
Mr. Tseng, the Taiwanese collector, said he thinks the ongoing strength of this fair will lie in artistic mix of East and West.
Chinese brush painting
This time, he said he liked German painter Gerhard Richter's wall-size print "Stripe" at Marian Goodman's booth. He also raved about Beijing art duo Sun Yuan and Peng Yu's life-size sculptures of dinosaurs and rhinoceroses, which stood, like a scattered herd, in several fair booths. "See? Everything about this fair is getting bigger," he added.</p>

Pastoral Cheese Shop To Open Concept Bistro On Broadway
home decorators
A new concept bistro adjacent to the popular Pastoral Artisan Cheese shop is the latest new venture coming to the vibrant stretch of Broadway in the East Lakeview neighborhood.
Pastoral announced earlier this week that in the fall, the 40-seat bistro Bar Pastoral will open at 2947 N. Broadway.
The cheese shop has operated next door at 2945 N. Broadway, in the same building, since 2004.
The owners of Pastoral say the new bistro will feature with hot and cold plates and other light menu items inspired by the cheese and charcuterie options at the adjoining store. There will also be creative cocktails with seasonal ingredients, and a selection of limited-distribution wines and craft beers.
The ambience will feature soothing tones, exposed brick and “roof-defining antiques from near and far,” according to Pastoral. Matt Nardella of Moss Design – who is also behind the interior at the 2 Sparrows brunch restaurant nearby on Diversey Parkway – will design the interior of Bar Pastoral.
Pastoral co-owner Greg O’Neill presented the proposal for the new cheese and wine bar concept to the South East Lake View Neighbors Association at the group’s meeting this past Monday. On the Facebook page for the organization, O’Neill said the concept received a “warm reception.”
The storefront at 2947 N. Broadway is currently occupied by the designed jewelry and handbag shop Spare Parts. It is separated from the Pastoral storefront by an entry door leading to the apartments on the upper stories of the building.
It has not been learned how Spare Parts will be affected by the new bistro.
Bar Pastoral is one of many new businesses that have either recently opened, or soon will, on Broadway between Belmont Avenue and Diversey Parkway. Some have met with warmer receptions than others.
Late last month, Wal-Mart confirmed that it has executed a lease for a store in the Broadway at Surf building, on the west side of Broadway just south of Surf Street. The retailer will open a Neighborhood Market store focused mostly on groceries in an operation that will combine three storefronts – two long-empty spaces once occupied by a Wolf Camera store and a PetSmart, and a third currently occupied by a Cost Plus World Market.
The World Market store is currently under liquidation, and is slated to close June 17 to make way for the Wal-Mart. Afterward, Wal-Mart will begin renovation of the space and plans to open early next year.
The planned Wal-Mart drew heated protests when rumors first spread about it back in December 2010. Neighbors have expressed concern that the Wal-Mart will drive the numerous small, independent stores along Broadway and nearby Diversey Parkway out of business, and permanently change the character of the neighborhood for worse.
craft stores
But as it stands, independent businesses are booming along Broadway. In addition to Bar Pastoral, another bar and bistro – this one specializing in craft beer – will also be opening in the fall a short distance to the north.
Dryhop will open at 3155 N. Broadway, in a space that had been vacant since the Pleasure Chest adult store moved out in 2006. The upscale neighborhood restaurant will feature “moderately priced and locally sourced cuisine inspired by the culinary techniques of Western Europe.”
Nearby, a new Chicago outpost of the Los Angeles-based Laugh Factory comedy club opened earlier this year at 3175 N. Broadway, in the space vacated by the Lakeshore Theater in 2010.
Meanwhile, another new restaurant, Frog N Snail, recently opened at 3124 N. Broadway. The location had been occupied by Sura, a Thai bistro with spherical swings suspended from the ceiling, which closed last year.
Leading the boom in the new businesses on Broadway was a Hustler Hollywood adult store, which opened at 3161 N. Broadway last summer, in the other of the two storefronts in the building where Dryhop will open. Reckless Records had occupied the space before moving across the street a year earlier.
Also last summer, an older adult store that was a lone throwback to a seedier era closed a couple of blocks south. Adult Fantasy at 2928 N. Broadway, an old-fashioned adult bookstore with private video viewing booths, had operated under various names since the 1970s.
Adult Fantasy remains shuttered, with its old orange and black sign still hanging over the sidewalk. But in another storefront in the same building, entrepreneur Philip Tadros plans to open the new Bow & Truss coffee roasting house at 2934 N. Broadway, in a space that until recently had housed the headquarters of Tadros’ digital design agency.
In addition to its Broadway location, Pastoral cheese shop also operates a store at 53 E. Lake St. downtown, and at 131 N. Clinton St. in the Chicago French Market.
asianwallarts.com
Alpana Singh, the host of the WTTW-Channel 11 program “Check Please,” reported earlier this year that she had been passing her time working as a cheesemonger at Pastoral, although she did not say which location.</p>

It is closely linked with the Chinese local culture, deeply rooted in the fertile soil, with distinct Chinese characteristics, and the Chinese culture at all levels produced far-reaching effect. </p>
<p>The origin of Taoism, Taoism as a religion originated in China has a long history, is a worship of many gods of polytheism, with an ancient religious form, the main purpose is the pursuit of enlightenment into the immortal, human economy has, and to me the" moral" as the main classic. The first official is the classic" Taipingjing", completed in the Eastern Han Dynasty, so the Han period as the start-up period.</p>
<p>It is not only in traditional Chinese culture plays a very important role on the modern world, but also has the indelible influence. Taoism as the first created simple materialist ontology theory, from the Warring States era is one of all classes of authors, the pre-Qin period in school, but it was not until the Han Dynasty have specific formal order resulting in me, moral, moral philosophy, the original further sublimation, Cui Lian. To the northern and Southern Dynasties Taoist religious form gradually improved.</p>
<p>Taoism takes" Tao" as the supreme belief, that the mystery of mysteries, ineffable. Now the general simple understanding is " Tao" is the origin of the universe. In the traditional Chinese culture, Taoism ( including Taoism, warlock etc.) are thought to be associated with Confucianism and Buddhism together a dominant theory and seeking information about practice practice immortal ( not old fool, take across sentient beings universally ) method. </p>
<p>Taoist Scripture is the total supply, with a certain intention, compilation collection scope and structure of the organization, many classic layout of large Taoism books. From the early years of the Tang Dynasty began to compile, has been nearly 1300 years of history. </p>
<p>The existing" supply" is by the Ming Emperor Yongle four years, the forty-third generation of Zhang Tianshi Zhang Yuchu and brother Zhang Yuqing, Feng hosted editing. Yingzong orthodox nine years and then through clever immortal Shao Yizheng correction additions, in the orthodox ten annual board thing complete, a total of five thousand three hundred and five volumes. Later in the book to print board called it as" orthodox" Taoist scriptures. Ming Shenzong Wanli thirty-five years, commanded fiftieth generation heavenly chief editor Zhang Guoxiang into" continued daozang".</p>
<p>It continued to supply a total income of all types"" book of the way one thousand four hundred and seventy-six, volume five thousand four hundred and eighty-five, packed into five hundred and twelve letter, each letter in" thousand-character classic" order number, the one hundred and twenty-one thousand five hundred and eighty-nine boards. " Supply" in various books, according to the" three holes four and twelve categories of" classified method arrangement. </p>

As China's Role in the World Changes, So Does Mandarin's Role in China
famous paintings
There's an experience common to many first-time visitors to China, who often recount it with surprise, delight, and a sense of discovering something uniquely Chinese. It happens when they utter their first sentence in mandarin to a Chinese stranger -- a taxi driver, a watermelon vendor, or an old man practicing water calligraphy in the park -- and see the person's face instantly light up in amazement. That amazement might turn to reverence if the speaker can demonstrate even a shaky comfort with the language. Waiguoren -- foreigners -- are no longer a rare sight in many parts of this briskly modernizing country, and with the worldwide boom in studying Chinese, an increasing number of them bring language skills. While the novelty is wearing off, Chinese continue to be fascinated by foreigners able to speak their mother tongue. It's a fun moment of cross-cultural bonding, but it's also a product of China's complicated relationship with its own language, which for centuries has been tied up with its national identity. As China and its place in the world are changing, so is the meaning of the Chinese language for natives and foreigners alike.
Most recently, this fascination manifested in Chinese web user's reactions to (and obsessive viewing of) a viral Internet video, in which a young half-Caucasian, half-Asian American impersonates 12 different characters, among them a Beijinger, a Hong Kong Chinese, a Taiwanese, a New Yorker, an African American, and a score of non-Chinese foreigners speaking English with exaggerated native accents. His immaculate Chinese and jarringly precise grasp of the slangs, accents, and subtleties in the language's regional variations amazed his Chinese audience. "What are you trying to do?" Some users, pinching a line from his skit, asked on Weibo, where the video, which has over 5 million views on Youku, has been forwarded more than 435,000 times.
Chinese calligraphy
The Chinese language has long been a point of pride for its people, a sense that often comes through when they tell foreigners, smilingly, that Chinese is too hard to learn as a second language. They're telling the truth, which they have lived themselves through years of hunching over their desks in school, scribbling thousands of characters and memorizing Chengyu, special four-character Chinese aphorisms that gives one's speech a cultivated air. For foreigners, learning Chinese can require even more fortitude and patience, a subject eloquently explained in this essay famous among Chinese learners, "Why Chinese Is So Damn Hard." The author, an English-speaker struggling to learn Chinese, posits that native speakers "generally become aware at some point of the Everest-like status of their native language, as they, from their privileged vantage point on the summit, observe foolhardy foreigners huffing and puffing up the steep slopes"
Exploring the growth of a massive economy See full coverage A deeper reason for the extraordinary pride that Chinese people take in their language lies in their view of it as a symbol of the nation's glorious history and blooming civilization. Chinese is one of the oldest known writings in the world, inscribed on animal bones that date back to 4,500 years ago, possibly earlier. It is one of the only logographic languages still widely used in the world, a writing system of pictorial symbols, each intended to look like the thing or idea it stands for. The language's consistent structural principles allow the modern descendants to converse directly with their distant ancestors, and create a remarkable sense of historical continuity that smoothes over the wrinkles of wars and dynasties. At any point in history, it has also been a powerful unifying force, tightly weaving ethnic groups under the rule of the empire and a common national identity. To neighboring countries that admired the civilization of the Middle Kingdom, the langauge was a form of soft power that they absorbed, incorporating Chinese into their own languages. Modern Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese all contain some linguistic traces of China's cultural influence.
Recent history, however, complicates Chinese people's relationship with their language. After repeated defeats by foreigners in the early 20th century, the Chinese began to question the traditional ways that had not saved them, including their sacred script. Scholars in the 1910s called it the greatest impediment to literacy and democracy, and even discussed switching the language to Esperanto or adopting the Latin alphabet. Most ambitious of them all, Mao Zedong, famously told the American journalist Edgar Snow in 1936, "Sooner or later, we believe, we will have to abandon characters altogether if we are to create a new social culture in which the masses fully participate." He might have replaced all Chinese characters with the Latin alphabet, had Joseph Stalin not convinced him that a nation as great as China should have its own form of writing instead of borrowing another culture's. The chaos of the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution further exhausted the momentum for language reform, and by late 1970s, people had lost all interest in radical, top-down change. Chinese characters, saved by a foreign dictator and a series of domestic anti-traditionalist movements, survived to be passed on to the next generation.
China's centuries-long status as the superpower of Asia, followed by its still-fresh memory of the century of humiliation imposed by foreign nations -- a trajectory epitomized in the fate of the Chinese language -- help instill in its people a strong national identity and an "us versus them" mindset. When foreigners speak Chinese, they are crossing this invisible identity boundary, still largely demarcated by the Chinese language. It is a phenomenon that can be fascinating, and perhaps a bit disorienting, for a Chinese listener to experience.
Chinese painting
As flocks of foreigners enroll in Chinese language schools and universities, Chinese people often read this as a positive statement about their modern society, proof of both China's expanding international clout and the resilience of its culture; proof that, even after being trampled by foreign powers and destructive political movements, China still has not lost its appeal, its place in the world. This reassurance carries special significance at this moment in China's history, a time when Chinese students are pouring hours into English lessons instead of classical Chinese poetry, when Chinese workers are building American products for foreign consumers, and when, for example, Chinese movie-goers are spending more money on foreign blockbusters like Titanic 3D. "I am sad that our predecessors destroyed our culture ... but did not build a beautiful new world," the well-known blogger Han Han recently wrote. "As one from the younger generation, none of us know if we are ever able to make up for everything."
The Chinese government, too, seems to realize that its aggressive campaign to push soft power abroad must also deal with the difficulty of the Chinese language, which is once labeled "a Great Wall erected between the masses and the new culture." It has established Confucius Institutes and Confucius Classrooms -- government-run cultural outposts that teach Chinese language and history -- in more than 700 locations worldwide, including many American universities, and supplied them with a steady stream of Beijing-trained and -financed language teachers. Many universities in the U.S. turned down the offer for fear of government censorship, but others, wishing to expand their Chinese education on the cheap, embraced them. "The Chinese are very clear on what they are trying to achieve," Martin Davidson, chief executive of the British Council told the New York Times. "They want to change the perception of China -- to combat negative propaganda with positive propaganda."
When the first-discovered piece of animal bone inscribed with ancient Chinese characters was found in 1899, China was disintegrating into the hands of Western powers, and the proto-nationalist Boxer rebels were slaughtering missionaries and diplomats in retaliation. More than 100 years later, these events have become history lessons in China's classrooms, as the government courts the West with Chinese language and culture. "Sanshinian hedong, sanshinian hexi," as they may have taught the foreigners, "30 years east of the river, 30 years west of the river." Or as the Americans say, every dog has its day.
Chinese brush painting
When left to the hands of its speakers, Chinese becomes the cursive characters tumbling down the red scrolls on families' front door during Spring Festival, or the snarky, catchy phrases that fill its modern pop music. Or it is the syllables uttered by a foreigner to a taxi driver, a watermelon vendor, or an old man practicing water calligraphy in the park, and instantly lighting up his or her face.</p>

The ABCs of chalkboard projects
home decorators
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Chalkboards may be old-school, but they’re the newest accent in home decor.
“Look what I made,” said Kelly Sims of Liberty, Mo., holding up her smartphone during an unofficial show and tell during a chalkboard paint class at Be Here Now, a store in Independence, Mo. She flipped through pics: A picnic basket with a chalkboard top for playfully listing its contents. An old mirror converted into a message board. The fronts of a few kitchen cabinets for meal planning and writing quotes.
Sims finds pieces in thrift stores, garage sales and even the trash, then transforms them with chalkboard paint into gifts and home-entertaining accessories.
Sims may be a kindergarten teacher, but she was a pupil that Thursday night in chalkboard paint class. The instructor was Meredith Martin, an interior designer who lectured on how to mix custom colors and what you can make with it.
Results included a table setting with a chalkboard-painted paper runner and flower pots with chalkboard labels. Next to her sat a chalkboard-painted desk, storage boxes and a child’s play table. She led the class in a craft project, a large metal charger with the decorative border taped off. With paint, the center of the charger became a chalkboard.
Here’s an array of chalkboard paint information:
Apply paint thickly with a foam craft brush for small pieces or a regular paintbrush for furniture and walls. For glass bottles, apply thinly. Spray cans of chalkboard paint are available.
Black — as in blackboard — is the most typical color of chalkboard paint, but it can be any color.
Chalkboard markers, available at craft stores and at Chalk Ink (chalkinkworldstore.com), are an alternative to dusty, smearing chalk.
Decals with chalkboard surfaces are another way to go if you don’t want to commit to paint. Large-format shapes include rectangles, squares, airplanes and coffee cups, to name a few at All Modern (allmodern.com). Little labels are available at Martha Stewart Home Office with Avery at Staples (staples.com).
Erasers like you had in elementary school are adorable. But if you want the surface to be super clean, see Letter T (clean it with a damp cloth).
Furniture, such as the top of a desk or a dining table, works well for chalkboard paint. But the paint can be used on the entire piece. Artist Tiffini Killgore painted a dresser with chalkboard paint and wrote the names of Kansas City neighborhoods on the drawers in chalk.
Good gifts can be made with chalkboard paint. Paint an empty wine bottle, et voila! A vase. Great gift tags, too, can be crafted. The best part: they’re reusable.
craft stores
How to mix your own chalkboard paint: buy your favorite color of latex paint, says interior designer Meredith Martin (she used a no-VOC variety). Buy unsanded grout ($3 from a hardware store). For a gallon of paint, mix in a quart of grout. (The ratio should be two-thirds paint to one-third grout). Stir. Add drops of water to make it thinner. After painting, allow to dry an hour. Often only one coat is needed.
Idea for parties: use a chalkboard-style oilcloth as a runner on the table. Give guests chalk or chalk pens and tell them to go to town.
Jot down anything on a chalkboard surface. It can be erased.
Kraft paper can be covered with chalkboard paint to create a tablecloth. Great for writing pairing suggestions for tasting parties.
Let your kids draw on the walls. No problem with a chalkboard or chalkboard paint.
Make a Monday-through-Friday message board out of an old five-panel door using chalkboard paint in the panels.
New idea: painting the surface of a deck with chalkboard paint.
Obvious choice: cheese trays. Not so obvious: your car. (We’ve spotted a VW Bug).
Pictures on Pinterest.com are inspiring us. We especially love walls with chalk drawings, such as a family tree in a nursery. A hint for precise outlines: rent a projector and create a transparency at a print shop.
Quotes on chalkboards = instant inspiration.
Resources for chalkboard paint include craft stores, home warehouses, paint shops and Be Here Now, Independence, Mo., 816-461-7819, b-here-now.com. Be Here Now also sells chalkboard paint in a variety of colors by the pint, $15.
Spray surfaces with polyurethane to make chalk-art creations permanent.
Tired of the mess or the design? The best way to clean it is with a damp cloth.
Understand that when you apply chalkboard paint, it goes on gritty. When it dries, sand surfaces with 150-grit sandpaper before you first write on them.
Variety. Think beyond white chalk on a blackboard. Chalk comes in a crayon-assortment of colors these days; Crayola has a 52-count pack.
Wet chalk is a secret for creating large-format designs, says Annie Huff, the 18-year-old daughter of Restoration Emporium owner Chrysalyn Huff. Annie Huff does chalkboard creations on doors and walls at the store. She dunks sidewalk chalk in a bucket of water. “It doesn’t look like anything when it’s wet on the surface, but then it dries vibrantly.”
Xpiration date of chalkboard paint: Six months from date of purchase or after it’s mixed. (Yes, creative spelling is permitted on creative chalkboards.)
asianwallarts.com
Yummy surface for appetizer trays? To be on the safe side, use a nontoxic food-safe clear coat (available at craft stores) on top of chalkboard painted plates and platters.
Zero writing. Chalkboard surfaces look great even with nothing on them. They’re full of possibilities.</p>

August for fall second months old, called Zhongqiu, due in the fall and on August, so people called the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the mid - Autumn Festival, festival in August, August, the eve of half, festival, because the day the moon Man Yuan, symbolizing the reunion, also known as the festival of reunion.
" Mid-Autumn Festival", the earliest found in" Zhou Li". According to ancient Chinese calendar, a year has four seasons, quarterly and three months, respectively, known as Meng Yue, Zhong Yue, Ji Yuesan, so the fall in February called Zhongqiu, because the lunar calendar in August 15th, in the middle of August, it said" the Mid-Autumn festival". Until the early Tang Dynasty, became a fixed festival Mid-Autumn festival. " New book of Tang, volume fifteen of fifth."" which contained five music spring, autumn Confucius king Yu Wenxuan, Wu King", and" Kaiyuan nineteen years, was the great-grandfather is the father to leave Hou Temple, with Zhang Liang.

FDA Panel Backs First Rapid, Take Home HIV Test
WASHINGTON — American consumers may soon be able to test themselves for the virus that causes AIDS in the privacy of their own homes, after a panel of experts on Tuesday recommended approval of the first rapid, over-the-counter HIV test.
cheap louis vuitton ukThe 17 members of the Food and Drug Administration advisory panel voted unanimously that the benefits of the OraQuick HIV test outweigh its potential risks for consumers. While the test, which uses a mouth swab to return a result in 20 minutes, does not appear to be as accurate as professionally-administered diagnostics, panelists said it could provide an important way to expand HIV testing.
The FDA will make its final decision on whether to approve the product later this year, weighing the opinion of the panel.
Government officials estimate one-fifth, or about 240,000 people, of the 1.2 million HIV carriers in the U.S. are not aware they are infected. Testing is one of the chief means of slowing new infections, which have held steady at about 50,000 per year for two decades.
cheap louis vuitton bags ukBased in Bethlehem, Pa., Orasure has marketed a version of OraQuick to doctors, nurses and other health care practitioners since 2004. When used by professionals, the test is shown to accurately identify both carriers and non-carriers 99 percent of the time.
But a trial conducted by the company showed the home test only correctly detected HIV in those carrying the virus 93 percent of the time. The FDA estimated the test would miss about 3,800 HIV-positive people per year, while correctly identifying 45,000, if approved for U.S. consumers. The test could prevent 4,000 new transmissions of the virus annually, though the figure could vary depending on how many people purchase the test. While it's not clear why the test was less accurate in consumer trials, company researchers said they expected the test's sensitivity to drop when used by consumers versus professionals.
cheap louis vuitton wallets ukPanelists stressed that the test's labeling should state that a negative reading does not automatically mean the person does not have HIV, because of imperfect results. Panelists also stressed the importance of a toll-free number to put those who test positive in touch with counseling and medical care.
Despite concerns about less-than-perfect use by the public, the panel overwhelmingly sided with more than two dozen HIV advocates and doctors, who said the test represents a step forward in combating the virus.
"Over-the-counter testing has the potential to reach a far greater number of people who want to know their HIV status on their own terms," said Tom Donohue, founder of HIV awareness group Who's Positive.
cheap louis vuitton shoes uk"We are always looking for game changers, and we believe this is one of them," said Carl Schmid, deputy director of the AIDS Institute. "Not only will it help reduce the number of infections but it will bring more people into care and treatment."
Tuesday's meeting was the second time in less than a week that FDA advisers recommended approval of a novel medical product to slow the spread of HIV. Last Thursday a similar panel of drug experts endorsed the HIV daily pill Truvada for preventive use. If FDA follows the group's advice, the daily medication will become the first drug approved to prevent healthy people from becoming infected with the virus.
The FDA has already approved other HIV test kits designed to be used at home, although those kits – which require a blood sample – must be sent to a laboratory for development. Orasure executives argue that a test that can be done at home will appeal to a much broader group of people.
cheap louis vuitton travel ukFDA officials said it is impossible to predict how widely the test would be used, but it would be most effective in the hands of people at high risk of acquiring the virus, including men who have sex with men.
A recent survey of gay and bisexual men cited by public health officials found that 84 percent would test themselves more frequently if they could buy an over-the-counter HIV test.
Orasure sells its professional version of the test for $17.50, though company executives declined to discuss how they would price the consumer version.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn Countersues Hotel Maid
By Daniel Trotta and Joseph Ax
cheap louis vuitton ukNEW YORK, May 15 (Reuters) - Former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn has filed a $1 million countersuit against the hotel maid who accused him of sexual assault, costing him his job and any chance of being elected president of France.
New York police arrested Strauss-Kahn a year ago when hotel maid Nafissatou Diallo accused him of forcible oral sex and trying to rape her in his luxury suite at the Sofitel Hotel in Manhattan. Prosecutors later dropped charges after losing confidence in Diallo's credibility.
cheap louis vuitton bags ukThe countersuit was filed Monday on the anniversary of the incident and a day before Francois Hollande - the Socialist who took the nomination that Strauss-Kahn once coveted - was sworn in as president of France.
Strauss-Kahn denied the allegations, saying the sexual encounter with Diallo was consensual. Diallo nonetheless sued Strauss-Kahn for unspecified damages in Supreme Court in the New York City borough of the Bronx, where she lived at the time.
Strauss-Kahn denies all wrongdoing in the countersuit and accuses Diallo of "knowingly and intentionally making a false report to law enforcement authorities."
cheap louis vuitton wallets uk"Soon after she entered the room, Ms. Diallo and Mr. Strauss-Kahn engaged in mutually consensual acts," the claim states. "No violence, force or coercion attended their sexual encounter, and Ms. Diallo suffered no injuries whatsoever."
The former international financier seeks damages for his arrest, which included jail time at New York's Rikers Island and house arrest in an upscale Manhattan neighborhood; for losing his job as managing director of the International Monetary Fund; and for harm to his reputation.
The countersuit seeks at least $1 million in damages plus an undetermined amount of punitive damages. It comes two weeks after Bronx Supreme Court Justice Douglas McKeon rejected Strauss-Kahn's motion to throw out Diallo's lawsuit on the grounds he had diplomatic immunity at the time of the incident.
cheap louis vuitton shoes ukThe countersuit cites claims by prosecutors that Diallo proved to be an unreliable witness, after they concluded she had lied about her past and offered varying accounts of her behavior in the moments that followed the incident.
One of Diallo's lawyers, Douglas Wigdor, called the counterclaim a "desperate ploy."
"One year to the day of his brutal sexual assault of Ms. Diallo, this is yet another example that personifies Strauss Kahn's misogynistic attitude," Wigdor said in a statement.
Strauss-Kahn's legal troubles have persisted since his return to France after the dismissal of the criminal case. In March, French authorities announced he was under formal investigation in connection with a prostitution ring in the northern city of Lille.
cheap louis vuitton travel ukHis French lawyers have accused authorities of harassing Strauss-Kahn for his "libertine ways" and denied he committed any criminal acts.

Cubism artists to pursue fragmentation, parsing, and reassembled in the form of a separate screen - for artists to show the fragmentation patterns of the many combinations of target. Artists to the point of view of many to describe the target object will be placed in the same screen, in order to express the most complete image of the target object. Objects from different angles staggered Diego put the cause of many vertical and parallel lines, angle scattered shadow to Cubism screen three-dimensional illusion caused by the perspective of traditional Western painting. The background and theme of the screen interactive interludes, to Cubism screen to create a two-dimensional painting characteristics.

Cubism began in 1906, created by George? Braque and Pablo? Picasso, when they live in Paris, France Montmartre. They met in 1907. Before the outbreak of World War I to 1914, they have been very closely working together.

The Cubism name appears with the chance. In 1908, Georges Braque (Georges works by Braque 1882-1963), Kahn Weller gallery exhibited works Estaque house critic L. to live Se Liesi in "Gil Blas" magazine on, commented: "Black everything to restore the ... become a cube." hence the name of this style. The Lord of the Cubism of Pablo Picasso and Braque. Picasso's painting "Avignon Girl" (1910), that contains the works of Cubism factors.

The artist's exploration of Cubism originated in the theory and creative practice of Cezanne, Cezanne use cylinder, sphere, cones to express natural ", that is in front of their own artistic ideals. This is essentially the early 20th century industrial civilization, the social reality of the machine age, reflected refraction in the spirit of painter.

Chinese painting Picasso once said: "When we engage in Cubism, and there is no intention to engage in Cubism, but to express something of our body." Braque admitted: "Cubism, or rather I Cubism, , but I have created, I used as a means, with the aim of painting to match my talent. "the combination of their two temperament, Gris and Léger efforts, they are back together again. This creates a dynamic cubism.

Cubism painting method generated through a process of brewing. Extremely active in the Paris art world in the early 20th century. Following the after impressionism, symbolism, the young artists of common concern is how innovative forms to the performance of internal emotional and psychological development of people in the industrial society of rapid change. The new genre in France, Germany, Italy and Russia have emerged.

In France, following the rise of Fauvism, another group of literary homemade party in Montmartre "Mobile Laundry. Picasso, Braque, Apollinaire, M. Luo Langsen, G., A. Salmon, M. Raynal, J. Gris, F. Léger and other. Support their dealers the D.-H. Kahn Weller, he opened a gallery in Paris in 1907, which is known as Cubism community. Participate in Cubism activities of R. Delaunay, A. Glades. 1910, J. Weirong as the center and establish a new cubism societies, often in French pitot activities, known as the Pitot Group. J. de Rivera, Mexico, Dutch painter P. Mondrian, Pitot Group. They give to the analysis of Cubism in order and rules, thus contributing to the development of Cubism toward a more abstract and subjective direction.

Chinese calligraphy From 1912, Picasso and other comprehensive test of Cubism. Analysis of Cubism broken and clear structure, retained a strong light and a certain sense of space. Painters of different states and different point of view of the observed object, centrally expressed in a single plane, resulting in an overall experience of the effect. Cubism comprehensive analysis of a certain object to proceed, but to use a variety of material combinations to create a new motif, and in-kind collage approach, trying to make the artists close to the ordinary real life no longer, from the anatomy.

The golden branches of society as Cubism in 1920, 1925 continue to hold the exhibition, but as the art movements of Cubism, as early as 1914, will lose its vitality.

Cubism is a concept of art schools. It is mainly the pursuit of the beauty of a geometry, the pursuit of the beauty of the form of permutations and combinations. It negates the traditional method of performance from a viewpoint of looking at things and things into the picture of the plane, twice space of three-dimensional picture is due. The performance of light and dark, light, air, atmosphere fun let located blocks from the contours of a straight line, curve, surface accumulation and staggered taste and mood. Do not look at things from a viewpoint, observation and understanding from a different point of view, in form and spirit on the screen, thus demonstrating the continuity of time. To do so, apparently do not rely mainly on visual experience and perceptions, but mainly rely on the rational, ideas and thinking.

Cubism has a strong tendency of formalism under the slogan of anti-traditional. Exploration in the art form, and gave the modern arts and crafts, decorative art, architectural art focuses on the formal beauty of the applied arts fields, no small role in promoting.

Cubist painter and there is no systematic theoretical guidance, each in his own thoughts to explore. Only in accordance with traditional painting to see an objective natural painting, performance was only natural that a partial and one-sided, as the modern people of modern life change: the objective and the micro, speed and changeable, the machine constraints, which requires painting to the performance of this diverse and complex; ancient Greece Plato's point of view of geometric beauty and Cézanne deliberately depicting the structure of things, the eternal point of view combined with the African Negro sculpture inspiration, which leads to the generation of cubist art. </p>

This painting was commissioned by the Government of the Republic of Spain, the Spanish Pavilion for the International Exposition held in Paris in 1937, creation, the performance of the subject of war and commemorative works. Painting the performance of the atrocities committed by Nazi Germany in 1937 air force bombing crazy town of Guernica, Spain. As an artist with a strong sense of justice, Picasso show for this barbaric act tremendous indignation. He took only a few weeks to complete this piece of masterpiece, as the condemnation and protest against the fascist brutality. Picasso his potential realizable 'again burst out of the lines twisted, expansion, and passion in the Pentium gallop, which is the "Guernica".

Guernica "of Pablo Picasso, for in 1937, the murals, Kampf 349.3 x 776.6 cm Art Center, now the Princess Sophia.

Strong sound works in order to play the sorrowful song in the history of Western painting marked the first time to shape events experienced, and we feel extreme fear. We see the tragedy with humor, sarcasm and compassion, the tremor of life and death still. Works fully demonstrated the cruel and the people suffering the pain of the fascist atrocities.

Outstanding painter in Spain, the main representative of the modern French school of painting, Picasso, born in 1881 in a picture of the family of teachers in Spain, settled in Paris in 1904. His original paintings are realistic, the theme of the painting beggars, street artists, and play the character of the circus, such as deep sympathy; later he formally and singular, has become the material of representatives of Cubism. So-called Cubism, objects split into a variety of geometric shapes, and then overlap a pile of a flat frame, completely changed the original object's shape, he created the oil painting "Guernica" is his masterpiece .

Leonardo Da Vinci paintings April 26, 1937, aircraft of Germany and France on the Spanish town of Guernica bombing. Picasso heard the news filled with indignation, abandoned the original creation of a work
Comic Guernica (10) in favor of a six-week time this painting to complete. This painting is not a realistic approach with the reports, but take a symbolic approach to expose the evil of the war of aggression and fascist atrocities. An epic tragic touch with the audience's visual and spiritual. Therefore, this picture has become very important works of 20th century art history.

Angry Picasso, Getting to Know the creation of a large oil painting "Guernica". Over the past seven decades, the masterpiece of the site has become one of the cultural symbols of warning the disaster of war, the tragedy of Guernica to remain forever in the memory of the human scars. Screen, no planes, no bombs, has gathered brutality, terror, pain, despair, death, and cry. Being trampled flowers, broken limbs, the mother burst into tears, sky and barking for help, man the dying Changsi horses arm fell to the ground ... This is a silent indictment of fascist atrocities, tearing the sky. Painter semi-abstract cubist approach to the image of the combination of Macross, breaking the space boundaries, contains a resentful protest, the achievements of the heroic epic; in fragmented black and white gray block exudes endless gloom, fear, refraction the artist's powerful compassion for human suffering.

scroll The face of the tragedy broke our hearts, different artists have different reactions, Guernica is Fascist Air Force bombing, is to give artists a silent exam. There are no feelings of compassion, can not touch the premise of the creation of the soul. Picasso said: "I was in my wanted to draw an object, rather than according to what I have seen the painting." Picasso lived in Paris, commissioned by the Government of Spain, is preparing for the Spanish Pavilion in Paris International Exposition creation paintings. Came the news of the German bombing of Guernica, Picasso furious, and he theme of the bombing of Guernica, which wanted the painting for the Spanish Pavilion in accordance with his will France inhuman crimes thoroughly exposed before the world. The creators of art, must be a thorough understanding of the true essence. Like a Chinese cartoonist Feng said: Art is not a skilled career, but the cause of the soul.

In some countries, after the advent of "Guernica" exhibited by the high evaluation of the peace-loving, Picasso so much respect for the people of the world. Franco dictatorship, "Guernica" can not be exhibited in the artist's homeland. Until 1981, "Guernica" before returning to Spain, Picasso's last wish. Picasso Museum of Art in Paris, had a trivial matter: One day, some German soldiers come here to visit, Picasso sent to each of them a "Guernica" replica. An officer asked Picasso: "This is your masterpiece?" Picasso replied: "No, this is your masterpiece!"

canvas prints After the war, he participated in the honor of the French resistance fighters of the first post-war Art Exhibition, and in 1944 joined the French Communist Party. Later, he took part in to defend the peace movement for world peace and the General Assembly created a poster "Peace Dove". Picasso, as opposed to the war of aggression, safeguarding world peace and paid a life-long efforts.</p>

<p>canvas prints Peking Opera afford much food for thought, flavor mellow. Peking opera stage art in literature, music, acting, singing, drums and gongs, makeup, makeup and other aspects, through numerous artists of the long-term stage practice, consists of a set of restrict each other, bring out the best in each other 's metrical and standardization of programming.
It creates the stage image artistic means is very rich, very strict usage. I can't control these programs, is unable to complete the opera stage art creation. As the opera in the beginning, they entered the palace, so that its growth differs from the local drama. It will show the life field is wider, the characters of its type more, technical comprehensive, integrity is required more strictly, to create stage image aesthetic demands higher. At the same time also correspondingly reduced local flavor of the folk, simple, straightforward style is relatively weak.
Thus, the performing art tends to be the combination of performance, the maximum out of stage space and time constraints, to achieve " spirit with form, Xingshenjianbei " realm of art. Performance requirements of delicate, everywhere in the play; the melody melodious euphemism requirements, not to play with; hot and win, and to " play the song" see good.
Scholars have pointed out that:" the Peking Opera the birth and development of the Qing court, by direct drive is in doubt, especially the Empress Dowager Cixi era, even more because of highly court favor reputation. From Daoguang Dynasty palace began to have" unwieldy drama" that the Queensland outside the opera performances, Xianfeng years large numbers of Anhui opera troupe of artists and was called into the palace singing strum, Opera repertoire, until the Tongzhi years, presided over by two house, especially the later empress dowager empress authoritarian era, gradually forming the Peking Opera has finally become the main palace concert. " On the good, the next will very Yan" saying now fully confirmed. Peking Opera broke social stratification, in the capital of each class in the audience is increasing rapidly, and thus quickly spread all over on both sides of the Changjiang river.
Leonardo Da Vinci paintings Among them, the court with kings and nobles, of course, than the ordinary audience is more helpful to the development of Beijing Opera Beijing opera, but was not art, creation and development of Beijing opera performing artists nor the court jester. Peking Opera is not the official art, at least in its development of one hundred years ago is not so."
At the beginning of Qing Dynasty, Beijing opera popular opera and rock ( Qingyang cavity ). After the Qianlong period, gradually fading, rock flourished instead of Kunqu Opera Beijing stage series. Forty-five years of Qianlong (1780) by the Beijing Opera artist Wei Changsheng chuan. Wertheim a Shuangqing class performance opera" roll back into the house,"" baby" and other plays. Wei Changsheng looks really handsome, noise and sweet, singing tactful, delicate work, a" rolling" namely sensation capital building. Department class and therefore known as the "Kyoto first". Since then, rock began to decline, the six famous rock class in class, the class, Yuqing class, Yu Qing Qing class, class, extraction and class also unmanned bother about, have a class to make a living in shaanxi. Fifty years of Qianlong (1785), the Qing government to Wei Changsheng's performance be destructive to the morals, banned the opera performances in Beijing, will Wei Changsheng's expulsion from the capital. Fifty-five years of Qianlong (1790), following the three celebrate their stay capital ( after class is located at the Han Jiatai Lane ), and four, Qixiu, neon green, spring, and spring, and three, song wish, Jin Yu, king and such as class, also in the Dashilan area settled.
With the three celebration, four, and spring, spring station four fame most Sheng, it is "the emblem of the four " called. ' spring classes ' Beijing time, according to the Chinese tune famous meters should precede the Qianlong Dynasty, in Beijing served as ' spring classes ' pillars at the beginning, the shift to earlier in the ' lines ' and ' spring '. ' spring classes ' in Baishun alley. '
Sixi combo ' in early that beijing. Hui opera, Kunqu Opera and Kunqu play, especially for, the " new row of a peach blossom everywhere, spreading the Sixi combo " language. The class is located in Shaanxi lane. Daoguang thirteen years (1853) dissolution. "The emblem of the four" productions, performing style, each with its long, so when there is a" three anniversary of the Axion, comic songs, and the spring handle, spring stage children " of reputation.
"The emblem of the four singing" in Anhui opera, Kunqu, wind cavity, four flat, Bangzi are also used, and the cavity is playing. In the Performing Arts Guangzhengbocai absorb all dramas of Yu Hui long, into play. And the lineup of neat, staged a rich repertoire, popular in the audience. Since Wei Changsheng was forced to leave Beijing opera, depressed, Shaanxi opera artists to make a living, have built into their, formed the emblem, Qin two cavity fusion situation. In the emblem, the merging process, their extensive Take Shaanxi opera singing, performing, the fine and a large number of scripts for transplantation, Hui opera art further development, create favorable conditions.
Opera popular in Hubei, the tune in the xipi and Erhuang, Hui opera have a blood relationship. Hui, Han two plays in Beijing has extensive art blend. Following the Qianlong Dynasty, Han Opera masters meters should first go to the capital, light at the beginning of the year (1821), respectively, a spring, and the spring in their class concert. Meters should be first to sing the Guan Yu play for Sanqingban, Lord Cheng Changgeng's red net play, all by the meter should be granted.

Artist of the handmade fan
Chinese painting
Zhao Qiaofa never imagined traditional fans would bring the winds of change to his life.
The 63-year-old lived as a poor farmer - both in the sense of not earning much and not having a green thumb - until he discovered there was money in handmade folding fans.
"The fan is more of a symbol of Chinese history than something people use to cool down," Zhao said.
"A scholar must wield his folding fan like a warrior wields his sword."
Today, in a different way, they're raising the status of Zhao and his neighbors.
He sells more than 10,000 fans a year for between 40 ($6.35) and 480 yuan apiece. They range in size from 33-120 cm.
"I can make 20 to 30 of the smallest fans or one of the biggest fans in a day," he said.
Since Zhao rediscovered the tradition of making folding fans in 1986, Fuli town in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has become celebrated for the trade.
In 1994 - the industry's heyday - more than 100 of Fuli's households were engaged in the business. Distributors from around the country started to travel to the town in Guilin city to purchase wholesale supplies. Tourists bought fans as souvenirs.
Zhao receives 50 to 180 tourists a day during the spring and autumn tourism peaks. He teaches them how to paint and make fans for 20 yuan a person. Many are foreigners and students from Hong Kong, he said.
Zhao's wife also makes fans. His two sons and daughter also learned the craft and worked for the family business when they were students. Now, his sons earn their living from painting.
Zhao started to learn to paint in 1975 after he met the Guangxi Theater Troupe director who taught Zhao for more than a year.
famous paintings
The director, who was once a painter, was laboring in Zhao's village as punishment during the "cultural revolution" (1966-76), and Zhao took care of him in return for learning the skill.
"I'd always been interested in painting but never thought I could make money doing it," he said.
"Meeting the theater troupe director and learning to paint from him was fate. It changed my life."
Zhao started selling his paintings in Yangshuo in 1984.
Two years later, a customer asked if he could make some folding fans for Japanese tourists.
Zhao spent three days dissecting folding fans to figure out how they were made.
He then made many 1.2-meter fans because tourists like to hang the large fans in their living rooms.
He took a two-hour bus ride downtown to sell his wares to venders at the wholesale price of 80 yuan a piece.
In the following years, he also went to Guangdong province's Shenzhen and Zhuhai cities, and the capital, Guangzhou, to promote his fans. Business boomed. In 1988, he used his 80,000-yuan savings to build a two-story house.
Chinese calligraphy
The house has become his workshop, where tourists visit, and he and his wife ply their trade.
Their subject matter includes flowers, birds and bamboo. The most popular is Guilin scenery because the area is celebrated for its karst peaks and rivers. A famous poem says: "East or West, Guilin senary is best."
"I must paint vividly so tourists know it's Guilin the instant they see it," he said.
"It's important to leave some areas blank because Guilin is misty in springtime. The unpainted area depicts the fog surrounding the mountains."
Zhao's 64-year-old wife, Mo Xiaofeng, pastes the painting rendered on the delicate rice paper to three sturdier paper layers.
"The process is complicated," Mo said. "I must stand for the whole day. My hands often hurt."
When the paper dries, Zhao folds and trims it. Then he lines the edges with blue paper.
Next, he inserts bamboo ribs and glues guards to the paper. The final step is to press the fan beneath a brick to tighten it.
"It's more difficult to make smaller fans," Zhao said. "It's a more intricate process."
Sometimes, Zhao paints directly on the mounted paper to save time.
It's tedious but rewarding work.
Chinese brush painting
"I'm not worried about the survival of the craft because my sons can do this," Zhao said.
Huang Feifei contributed to the story.</p>

Cape Town Shines in London
craft stores
LONDON — The walls are patterned with leaves, as if this were a spot of verdant, sun-kissed nature in a rain-soaked city. And in a way it is. For Hanneli Rupert has planted her African offerings in a pop-up store in the Shop at Bluebird — a multi-brand concept store in the London neighborhood of Chelsea.
Hanneli Rupert, the designer of Okapi bags, who headed the African pop-up store initiative in London.
Ms. Rupert has brought a range of African designs to the Shop at Bluebird, including scarves from African Strings.
Printed clutches by NearFar.
Ms. Rupert has brought over from her own Merchants on Long store in Cape Town more than a taste of her native South Africa. Alongside her own Okapi brand of bags, made from skins sourced from sustainable farms and each identified with a Springbok horn, a South African talisman, are the fruits of African designers she supports.
There are tailored tribal print jackets, hip T-shirts and Liberty print scarves, their patterns hand-beaded. That handcraft goes too into an intricately beaded painting, a funky radio, enlisting silent auction bids, and Mohawk cuffs in bright colors from shocking pink through green, blue and yellow. Add lip balm from Allan Schwarz, bold jewelry from African Strings, a miniature perfume from Frazer Parfum and African exercise books from Sawa. The pop-up store is open through mid-June.
“I moved back to South Africa after several years of living in Europe to start my Okapi handbag line,” explained Ms. Rupert. “I am very interested in the ‘Made in Africa’ brand and the challenges of creating a brand entirely made on one continent.
“It was through doing this that I discovered several artisans who I felt could be given better representation locally and abroad,” she continued. “I also knew of African brands that were selling well internationally but were not available in Africa itself. I am very patriotic and this does tie into why I would only be interested in marketing African brands. There is also an ethical consciousness to my thinking.”
home decorators
The shop owner has a humble approach, considering that she is the daughter of Johann Rupert, the executive chairman of the Swiss luxury goods company Richemont. Her own bags sell from £500, or about $800, but, apart from some sculpted silver from the London-based designer Patrick Mavros, the prices in the store are reasonable: the bold, patterned shoulder-throw sweaters from £220 are typical of fair demands for careful design and craft.
The Bluebird concept store itself, in its striking Art Deco building at 350 Kings Road, is a temple of intriguing objects, the clothing mix including contemporary, urban and slightly off-kilter brands with a youthful chic, such as Guillaume Henry’s Carven or the digital patterning from Peter Pilotto and the Spanish-born, British-based Emilio de la Morena.
Paul Baptiste, the store’s sharp-eyed taste maker, says that he sees a change in young shoppers, who are drawn towards craftsmanship and fine fabrics.
The pop-up Merchants on Long store gave Mr. Baptiste the opportunity for a cross-cultural celebration. Guests from the young generation of British royal princesses to the Zimbabwean Chelsy Davy, a former flame of Prince Harry, came to party at the opening.
asianwallarts.com
Will Ms. Rupert take her project on tour? “I don’t envision Merchants becoming a franchise,” she said. “But I would like to host more pop-up shops, and I am planning one in Lagos later this year.” </p>

Turn Your Instagram Photos Into Works of Art on Canvas
canvas prints
Dream of hanging your Instagram photos in your living room? A new service will allow you to do just that, printing your best snapshots on “museum-quality canvas.” The service is called Instacanv.as, and it officially launches Wednesday. </p>
<p>With Instacanv.as, you first choose which of your images you'd like transferred to canvas.Users sign in with their Instagram accounts and choose a photo from their Instagram profiles, or browse through shots from other contributors to the site. The canvas prints come in three sizes: 12 inches by 12 inches, 16 inches by 16 inches, and 20 inches by 20 inches. Your photos can be printed on either black or white canvas. Pricing starts at $31.99 plus shipping.
Virtual Gallery for Sellers</p>
<p>If you fancy yourself an Instagram photography pro, Instacanv.as allows you to set up your own virtual gallery and sell your prints to site visitors. Each time the service sells one of your prints, you receive 20% of the purchase price, and the rights to the photo remain yours. The company touches your photos up using a proprietary algorithm that allows the site to resize photos up without making them blurry, which is done in order to ensure quality prints, it says.
Leonardo Da Vinci paintings</p>
<p>While Instagram photographers may be itching to sell their works of art right away, the early success of Instacanv.as has the site struggling to catch up. The gallery waiting list is “tens of thousands” of users long according to the company, and it may be a while before you can sell those first prints. </p>
<p>There is a way to jump in front of the line and get your gallery sooner: Ask friends and family to like and tweet your gallery’s “coming-soon” page. Each like, tweet, Google +1, or Pinterest Pin will give you a point. The galleries with the highest number of points each week are given priority by site administrators. </p>
<p>scroll</p>
<p>While Instacanv.as seems fresh, it’s actually not a new idea and already has a fair amount of competition. Prinstagr.am will print your photos on t-shirts, cardstock, and even in poster form, while Bumblejax offers a similar service to Instacanv.as, printing photos on a range of materials including acrylic, bamboo, and aluminum. </p>
<p>canvas prints
Instacanv.as is one of the cheaper options out there though, and Matt Munson, the company’s CEO, says the company is focused on keeping the sometimes fickle Instagram community happy (just look at the hub-bub over Android users being left in). That may be a task in and of itself. </p>

Asian Shares Mixed After China Easing; Euro Drops On Political Worries
<p>cheap louis vuitton uk Asian stocks were mixed Monday after China sought to kick start lending by lowering the share of deposits that banks must hold in reserve, while continued political uncertainty in Europe put pressure on the euro and the risk-sensitive Australian dollar. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index was down 0.4% and China's Shanghai SE Composite fell 0.2% after opening in positive territory. The Nikkei, the S&P ASX 200, and Singapore's Straits Times Index were all flat. The Kospi in Korea dropped 0.8%. Although markets rallied in early trade Monday, the gains were only temporary. Investors were reacting to the decision of China's central bank on Saturday to lower the reserve requirement ratio for banks by 0.5% in order to boost liquidity and aid the slowing economy. The policy move, which takes effect May 18, came just a day after China released a batch of disappointing economic data for April. Industrial production failed to meet expectations, while loan growth was much lower than expected. </p>
<p>cheap louis vuitton bags uk "The RRR cut last weekend suggests that policymakers were fighting back to defend the growth. To win the battle, policy fine-tuning would have to be upgraded to aggressive easing," said Citigroup strategist Minggao Shen. After mixed trading in the U.S. and Europe on Friday--the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.3% and the FTSE 100 gained 0.6%--regional markets were trading in narrow ranges after a weekend of political uncertainty in Europe. Coalition talks in Greece continued throughout the weekend with party leaders failing to form a government, forcing Greek President Karolos Papoulias to call a final meeting to be held Monday. In Germany, Chancellor Angela Merkel's party lost an election in North Rhine-Westphalia, raising doubts it will be able to stay in power after next year's general election. </p>
<p>cheap louis vuitton wallets uk The single currency extended last week's 1.3% slide, trading at $1.2890 in early Asian trade, down from $1.2919 late Friday in New York. Political uncertainty also pushed the Australia dollar down as low as $0.9997, slipping below parity with the U.S. dollar for the first time since December, before rebounding slightly to $1.0005. The yen fell against the dollar to Y80.08, after Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda declined to rule out Tokyo intervening once again to stop the rise in the Japanese currency. Light, sweet crude traded on Nymex dropped 0.6% to $95.52 a barrel in early Asian trading. In addition to the European situation and poor economic data from China, the cost of crude slipped after bearish comments Sunday by the Oil Minister in Saudi Arabia, Ali al-Naimi, who said that the country would like the cost of Brent crude to fall to $100 a barrel, compared to the current $111.30. </p>
<p>cheap louis vuitton shoes uk Naimi said last week that producers were pumping enough to deal with the impact of the widening western sanctions against Iran on the oil market. He reiterated on Sunday that producers were pumping 1.3 million barrels per day to 1.5 million barrels above demand, which is helping to build inventory. “That should give comfort to consumers,” he said.Ballooning U.S. oil inventories will continue to keep a lid on prices. Government data last week showed crude stockpiles rose 3.7 million barrels. Analysts had expected a smaller build of 2 million barrels. Oil inventories are now at their highest level since 1990, amid still-weak demand and steadily rising production Greece's inconclusive elections increase the risk that the country will default and leave the euro zone, and is bad for the creditworthiness of Greek banks, Moody's Investors Service said Monday. </p>
<p>cheap louis vuitton travel uk The May 6 election, which saw anti-austerity forces gain strongly and has resulted in no parties being able to form a government, "increased the likelihood of a further, disorderly Greek default and ultimately of Greece's departure from the euro area," Moody's MCO +0.05%senior analyst Nondas Nicolaides wrote in a weekly credit report. "A Greek exit from the euro would be a severe credit-negative for Greek banks." Voters "marginalized" the two big parties, which supported agreed austerity measures, the ratings form said. After a week of failed attempts by parties to form a coalition government, President Karolos Papoulias is to make a last-ditch effort Monday to seek agreement among various parties, but fresh elections next month are now seen as probably unavoidable. "There has been increasing rhetoric lately by politicians in Greece regarding a possible cancellation of, or amendments to, the austerity measures," Moody's said. "At the same time, European leaders have reiterated that the bailout pact is not negotiable and that Greece must adhere to its commitments and economic reforms to receive any future disbursements from the EUR130 billion bailout package." </p>

China Stimulus May Limit Oil's Losses This Week: Survey
<p>cheap louis vuitton sale Benchmark crude oil prices will extend losses this week as risk aversion stoked by lingering political uncertainty in Europe continues to haunt markets, CNBC's weekly survey of market sentiment showed. About 45 percent, or five out of 11 respondents, polled in a weekly CNBC poll of analysts and traders, expect oil prices to fall this week. Three respondents believe prices will be unchanged while three forecast a gain. Though Europe will continue to provide the negative overlay, a weekend move by China’s central bank to cut banks’ reserve requirement ratio (RRR) for the third time in six months may prove supportive. Meanwhile, closely watched U.S. economic indicators including housing starts, retail sales and industrial output for April will also set the tone but more importantly Wednesday’s Fed minutes from its last meeting in late April will be scrutinized for any clues suggesting more stimulus may be on the cards.</p>
<p>cheap louis vuitton men bags China’s central bank cut the amount of cash that banks must hold as reserves on Saturday, freeing an estimated 400 billion yuan ($63.5 billion) for lending to head-off the risk of the sudden economic slowdown. The latest easing move could mark the “turning point for more easing with more conviction,” Chi Lo, CEO of HFT Investment Management told CNBC Asia's "The Call" today. After a largely positive start, most Asian stock markets are turning negative after the cut in banks’ reserve requirements in China. Risk assets including the Australian dollar – which is nearing parity with its U.S. counterpart – are looking vulnerable. Crude oil is losing ground with U.S. futures down 66 cents at $95.47/barrel on Globex while ICE Brent is 43 cents lower at $111.83.Outside China, political uncertainty in Europe will continue to raise risk aversion. </p>
<p>cheap louis vuitton men sunglasses The euro hit its lowest level in nearly four months on Monday after Greek political leaders failed in their latest efforts to form a ruling coalition, keeping investors on edge over the risk of the country exiting the euro zone.“The best vantage point to have read the market moves would have been a deckchair outside the Greek Presidential residence,” said one commodities trader, wryly describing last week’s price action. The euro breached an option barrier at $1.2900 and dipped to as low as $1.28811 at one point on trading platform EBS, its lowest level since January 23.“There is more downside, as the concerns over the euro zone only increase,” said John Kilduff, a partner at Again Capital LLC. “U.S. dollar strengthening will pressure commodity prices lower in general.”U.S. crude futures may continue their decline towards $90 a barrel area this week while Brent crude may breach $110, according to some technical analysts.</p>
<p>cheap louis vuitton men loafers “The consistency of bearish signals in commodities, and even gold, is striking and we prefer to stick with the recent moves lower,” said Dhiren Sarin, Barclays Capital’s Chief Technical Strategist for Asia-Pacific. U.S. crude futures will likely to push to “new lows for the year,” possibly testing the December lows around $92.55, Sarin forecast, while Brent crude could test $108. “Thereafter, a very important level comes into sight near $108, a trend line which has cleanly supported the uptrend for the past three years.” Crude oil and risk assets broadly suffered last week after China’s industrial output numbers disappointed and Greece’s anti-austerity parties failed to form a coalition government, raising fears that the country was heading towards another election.</p>
<p>cheap louis vuitton men sandals June crude futures on the New York Mercantile Exchange, settled 95 cents lower at $96.13 a barrel on Friday, generating the second straight week of losses. For the week, front-month crude fell $2.36 or 2.4 percent. In the last two weeks, U.S. front-month crude dropped $8.80, or 8.4 percent, the biggest two-week percentage loss since Sept. 30, 2011. Crude oil quoted in London fared no better. ICE June Brent crude settling 42 cents lower, or 0.42 percent, at $112.26 a barrel on Friday. Brent crude also suffered its second consecutive week of losses, during which it dropped $7.57, or 6.3 percent, its biggest two-week percentage loss since Dec. 16, 2011. Some respondents in this week’s survey argue last week’s selloff was overdone and prices may stage a technical rebound. “We are probably due for a slight retracement (higher) but the trend remains down,” said Kirk Howell, Chief Operating Officer of SunGard's energy and commodities business SunGard Kiodex.</p>
<p>cheap louis vuitton men sneakers Tom Weber at Portfolio Managers Commodity Futures & Options in Los Angeles expects this week will be “grim” for oil “if one was long” the markets though he characterized the move lower as a correction in a longer term uptrend.“Commodities appear to be in a general downtrend for now,” he said. “Nevertheless, global growth appears to be slowing relative to last quarter’s expectations. We’ll continue to be short oil for now.”Weber also noted supply risks from Iran “appears to be toned down.” Nevertheless, market bulls say talks scheduled May 23 between Iran and the western powers aimed at curbing Tehran’s nuclear program will be a key date for oil markets and could pose an upside risk. Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest oil exporter, meanwhile wants to keep prices at around $100 a barrel for Brent crude, a level Oil Minister Ali al-Naimi described as “great.”</p>

<p>Now, a new study reports that the zombie- christian louboutin ant fungus itself faces attack by another fungus. </p>
<p>This secondary attacker, a white fungus, is “looking for its own lunch, and it thinks this dead ant is a nice thing to eat, along with the official christian louboutin outlet fungus that’s eating the ant,” said David Hughes, a disease biologist at Penn State and one of the authors. </p>
<p>This attack prevents the spores of the zombie-ant fungus from spreading and infecting other ants in the colony, Dr. Hughes said. </p>
<p>“Looking at the colony, it’s a good thing for the ants,” he said. “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” </p>
<p>It takes about three to nine days for christian louboutin official store ants to die after the zombie-ant fungus attacks. A month or two later, the white fungus might come along and attack the parasite growing from its remains, Dr. Hughes said. </p>
<p>He and his colleagues studied carpenter ants in the rain forests of Brazil and southern Thailand. There are more than a thousand species of carpenter ants throughout the world. </p>
<p>The intertwined lives of the fungi christian louboutin official website and the ants illustrate just how complex relationships are, Dr. Hughes said. </p>

Art & Soul: Josh Yu's work challenges best of East and West in Savannah exhibit
Chinese painting
Josh Yu attended medical school in China, but he always yearned to be an artist.
“Before the Cultural Revolution in China, we had no choices,” he explains. “In America, I had many more choices, so I decided to move here and to become an artist and an educator.”
Yu moved to the U.S. 45 years ago and ended up becoming an artist at Epcot Center in Orlando, painting portraits of tourists and creating art at the China Pavilion for two years. After earning undergraduate and graduate degrees in painting — and exhibiting his work in dozens of international shows — he began teaching painting at the Savannah College of Art and Design in 1992.</p>
<p>Over the years, Yu has skillfully blended Eastern and Western aesthetic influences, experimenting with various media, formats and creative approaches. He combines traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy with western approaches to abstraction and expressionism, offering a variety of interpretations of the natural world.
“Transformation,” a solo exhibit currently on display at Gallery S.P.A.C.E., showcases Yu’s wide-ranging approach to art over the past 25 years. The exhibition reveals his ongoing experimentation with oil paint, watercolor, gouache and mixed media. Unlike many artists who find one niche and stick with it, Yu loves to expand his repertoire and try new things.
“Creating art is my way of pursuing absolute freedom,” he says. “My whole process of making art is like meditation. It’s not just about me expressing my anger or my happiness.”
famous paintings
“Cloudy Mountain,” a 6-foot-tall Chinese-inspired painting, offers a dazzling view of clouds settling like smoke upon a verdant tree canopy. Using delicate brushstrokes and extensive use of green and white, Yu emphasizes the verticality of the trees, land and sky. In keeping with traditional Chinese painting, the human imprint is light and almost negligible.
“Chinese painting focuses more on natural elements than the figure,” he says. “In Chinese painting, connecting a tiny human figure with a huge landscape connects back to the Tao. The human imprint shouldn’t fight against or damage the natural order.”</p>
<p>One of the highlights of “Transformation” is Yu’s mixed media work, like “Impermanence,” which arranges a series of 30 oval “faces” in a geometric 6-by-5 grid that suggests the interconnection of human experience and hints at the fleeting nature of life itself.
“I always emphasize spontaneity, even thought the work is complex and has multiple layers,” he says.
Color serves as a critical element in Yu’s work, whether he creates Chinese fan paintings, watercolors, still lifes, Asian landscapes, abstract experiments or expressionistic compositions. He alternates between the deep, natural greens of the forest and more intense lime, magenta and crimson hues.
Chinese calligraphy
“Color is a very strong language for artists to use,” he explains. “It’s very important.”
The artist describes his “Bridge Series,” which focuses the eye upon the silhouette of bamboo leaves against topaz, emerald or raspberry backgrounds, as an attempt to connect Eastern and Western culture. A series of detailed, almost mythic portraits on the gallery’s south wall reveals thoughtful meditations upon Asian spirituality
Ultimately Yu’s training in the medical field has come in handy, although not in the ways he may have originally expected. </p>
<p>“My medical background helps me look at things in a scientific way, not a just in a romantic way,” he says. “It makes me a better observer.”
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Chinese brush painting
Artist Josh Yu was born in China and graduated from medical school before moving to the United States and earning a BFA from the Memphis College of Art and an MFA in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He has worked as a painting professor at SCAD since 1992 and has exhibited his work in international solo exhibitions and group shows.</p>

Celebrate American Craft Beer Week locally
home decorators
With the growing number and continuing success of our area’s craft breweries, Houstonians have plenty to celebrate during this year’s American Craft Beer Week, which kicks off Monday.
And a number of fine bars and restaurants are making sure we have plenty of opportunities to make those celebrations memorable.
You can support U.S. craft beer and the multitude of stores, bars and restaurants that are doing such a tremendous job of getting those beers into the local market, where we can all enjoy them.
Meet him Wednesday at Petrol Station, 985 Wakefield, from 7-9 p.m. for Shmaltz Pint Night. On tap will be Jewbelation Bar Mitzvah (13), which is brewed with 13 malts and 13 hops and delivers a Petrol-worthy 13 percent ABV. On Thursday, you can find Cowan at the Montrose Whole Foods, 701 Waugh, for a meet and greet from 4-6 p.m. After that, he will be at Onion Creek, 3106 White Oak until 8:30 or 9 p.m. From there, Cowan and company will head over to The Hay Merchant, 1100 Westheimer, for a rare tapping of Jewbelation 10 (10 malts, 10 hops, 10 percent ABV). You can talk to Cowan about beer and his new book, “Craft Beer Bar Mitzvah.”
asianwallarts.com
Again, this is by no means a definitive list. Check your favorite spots to see what they have going on, then get out there and support craft beer — next week and every week.</p>

The painter represents sunny weather after the rain while the suburban view. It also reflects the good harvest, farmers in the fields along the happy scene of hard dance.
Graph segment, draw Qifeng confrontation, and pine forests cover the shadow looming diange cornices, tortuous corridor. In the middle of the blank, and gets in, appear to be expressed in the valley and drizzle. Under the close-range, painting, stone, rock, stream sparse willow, bamboo, and low-lying paddy fields, and stomping and farmers. Screen using a horn type"".
" Dancing figure" is the Southern Song Dynasty famous painter Ma Yuan masterpiece, this diagram near Tian Long Creek, Boulder crouch in the left corner, sparse willow bamboo, a few farmer are singing and dancing to the ridge on the. The distant peaks cut, in a looming, asaka. The whole atmosphere of lively, open, to express the image of" good people happy, ridge on the tage" poetic.
Chinese folk entertainment in the form of a free program, with a foot pedal for the song is. According to the" martial arts world news, the" contained Lee basket member real write song capital of Ling'an prosperity 's poem," the shadows Heng Yilu cold, singing of Xiao Yun edge". In addition, Zhang Wuzi's poem: " post post Pinghu printed the night and day, beautiful Jo Kam phase lead; capital half mask for road, still have the backward ship". This form of entertainment in the visible Chinese civilians are popular. Ma Yuan artist Li Tang, so the" map" of Chinese stone ax cun. Ma Yuan of course development, enrich the ax chapped techniques and have their own characteristics. This diagram in specific techniques, a vigorous and simple, axe chopping Cun is in a clean manner, is the typical characteristic of body. The branches of the trees under the e potential, is Ma Yuan's creation. This work, in general, although not the corner of the king, but in specific treatment, has been integrated into the corner of King 's rule, so, not to the majestic Kyo, but in a fresh and win. Especially the thin distant peaks, like stone bonsai, smart light, no North Song Dynasty landscape paintings that forced the overwhelming momentum cardiopulmonary.
home decorators Ma Yuan wrote of a quiet deep show Bay, a few farmer in the spring season with a bit tipsy to happy dance. He used simple lines, beautiful colors, cleverly put surrounded by mountains and waters complex scenes and clearly written, there is no flowers foil, but exhibiting the pleasant spring mountain environment. The odd kurtosis, near rock hard, trees and clouds, with clear distant space and light feeling, with open show Jin special style. " Su Yuqing Metropolitan Suburbs, Chaoyang Li kingstown. Good people happy, ridge on the tage line." This is the" beautiful" of the poem, Ma Yuan also to draw to praise in the music people, politics and the scene. This will figure painting in the frame of the close-range, an old man just across the bridge, the right hand left hand scratching himself, gills, shake up, sing and dance, charmingly naive. His two elder one hand clapping their hands, feet, another person take the girdle, bow to twist, dance state. Later, a bamboo stick, pick on the gourd, body lean forward slightly curved, waist, and festival travel. Four a, but moving law of dynamic harmony, Le Feng meteorological in lively dance show. The ridge road, left two children to the picture to add a playful, and affordable, constitute the screen characters and dynamic atmosphere and coordination.
Painting medium is towering rock, partly hidden and partly visible in the Cong Shuzhong palace. With the emperor 's symbol. The author seems to have such a concept embodied in: Le because Feng, Feng is because the emperor governance way. But from look on the taste, near the two scene is not so harmonious, are loth to sense. This is the authors attempt to put themselves on the" boorish vulgar" rustic affection and the Royal" the noble and elegant" rich advocate the two different emotional integration in a picture. Although the emperor of the poem gives this ideological content, but also cannot coordinate two kinds of disparate emotion. Stone lying and Xiufeng main axe splitting method, in which a long with Xiufeng clip which Cun, rock dignified, Xiufeng steep insurance and water soft hook method to form a strong contrast.
This diagram author Ma Yuan in the Southern Song Dynasty painting occupies an important position in the Southern Song Dynasty, the light case, Ning Zong two in the studio to Chao, very popular ruler. People usually regard him with Li Tang, Liu Songnian, Xia Gui together, called" the four of us". They represent landscape painting in art history, known as" academy". In" the four", if Li Tang is the inaugurator of, then, Ma Yuan is the most representative of the painter. Ma Yuan was born in the family of his great-grandfather, painting, grandfather, father, uncle, brother, son as court painter, but very successful. Like a few generations are good at painting and made a significant contribution, not only in the Song Dynasty, is in the Chinese history of art is also extremely rare. Enough to rival, only the Zhao Mengtiao's family. Ma Yuan's paintings, in inherits the predecessor achievement on the basis of further mining landscape in the poetic and moving force, deliberately image extraction processing, pay attention to the composition and operation of tailoring, making the work more concise and complete, more specifically highlights the theme. The landscape is generally steep mountains, near vision, rock hard, concise, close-range dignified. " The small Qiao Feng straight up and does not see its top, or cliff straight down and do not see its angle, or near mountain towering and ground is low, or boat pan month and sit alone", to the people to ponder the endless charm.
asianwallarts.com Ma Yuan because of the composition is good at using the partial performance of the overall approach, often painted hills, one corner of the sea water, so that the screen showed a large blank, therefore, was known as the " horse corner", is thought to reflect the Southern Song Dynasty peaceful the Canshanshengshui, so-called" Central Plains wealth per write, Liang is heartless fear will be that you have touched; the reduced territories of a nation, it should also." This interpretation is not scientific. In fact, Ma Yuan's corner, the view is the art of highly refined, is entirely aesthetic, rather than politics. When the Northern Song Dynasty painter the panoramic landscape development to reach the peak of perfection, the Southern Song Dynasty landscape painters to create something, we can not in perspective and method to find better way", by far its potential" panoramic scenery to " close the matter" corner of king. In addition, Liu Li Ma Xia's" academy" in the Ming Dynasty landscape, Dong Qichang was listed as" the north", think specific in its descriptive fastidious depiction, in the drawing function purpose was as a contact, so the results often lead to the loss of life of artists. Dong Qichang puts forward clearly," north not my Cao as science". As a literati painters, should from" southern" proceed with. So, although the court style landscape art in the unique, but in the future is always is in the position that is repelled, especially by the literati 's opposition. </p>

<p>Chinese painting The expressionist movement in anti traditional thoughts arisen, in writing methods it abandoned in Europe before nineteenth Century long-term dominant " imitation theory" or" theory of reflection" aesthetic, and advocating the" performance of" aesthetics, that is to say, the creation is no longer describe the objective world process, but rather the subjective emotion, image expression of fantasy, for" intrinsic need". Despite the expressionist creative ideas and methods vary, but from subjective, self starting this premise is common. At the same time, this tendency was popular in Europe of Nietzsche's tragic aesthetics, Bergson's philosophy of life and the spirit of Freud's analysis of occurrence of intersection, formed a kind of novel strange aesthetic and artistic features, specifically, which can be summarized as follows:
A, strong passion. With the exception of a small number of "art for art's sake" advocate, most expressionist regard creation as the expression of their resistance to emotional means, or as a pouring emotional breach.
Kafka said," the inner world of creation is a huge boost to external." The century's most influential expressionist composer Schoenberg also said:" a work of art, only when he put the heart of the surging feelings to convey to the audience when, it can produce the maximum effect, to the audience the innermost feelings surge." Is considered to be the founders of the century art Kandinsky generalized more briefly: art is a manifestation of" internal needs." However, the expressionist characteristics summarizes both brief and image, when pushed the German literary critic Herman's remark:" the call of soul. It can be said is the most basic characteristics of expressionism. Cry, as both performers" needs", and their" action".
The Expressionists, Sussman wrote: " we want to move, to function, to change the current situation, how to start? Only one thing! We can only cry, strain every nerve to the poor, asphyxia to death vocals, scream, shout sound cover of events happening terrible tumult, was called to let people, let God to hear our voice. But this is not the general shouted, but a great calamity is at hand. When give dying kicks and screams like. Werfel was for his colleague Carle Brant 's posthumous writing wrote in the preface:" your teachings? -- is a rapid, scream, was chased to pant for breath were pressed in the door of a house, think there is a security man cries.
Therefore this abnormal cry for expressionist says with its is" inside need", which is a kind of aesthetic pursuit, is a" huge, all-inclusive feelings" and ideas to the reader, in order to obtain the effect of shock the common customs. Early expressionist German poet Becher said:" in be entranced nervously in big mouth." This can be described as expressionist self portrait. At that time in order to" scream" as its name, poems, novels and draw a name quite common ( I think that Lu Xun had his first novel set entitled" scream" with this thought about ).
famous paintings So, like Bethell some poetry in a series of rows of sentence and the exclamation mark is, not surprisingly, even some dramas such as the special pulling a thumb" force" all exclaiming sentences dialogue, can also understand! No matter what kind of style, the pursuit of a sense of strength, a sense of movement and rhythm are common. In order to achieve a strong artistic effect, means good distorted lines, abnormal color, quick rhythm, strong images, contrast strong contrast, etc., as expressionism theorists ed Schmidt said, in an expressionist works," feelings get unlimited expansion."
B," world image reconstruction". Since the " imitation" abandoned, then creation can't be like the previous methods that to write. Expressionist writer A Wolf Shi Tan said: "the art and life of unity will no longer period as determined by nature art methods to achieve." Ed Schmidt has a famous saying:" the world is here, just a reproduction it is no meaning." What shall I do? His answer is:" to create a new picture of the world", he thought" to create is the great task of art." Because, generally an expressionist thought, truth is subjective.
In accordance with another expressionism theorists goods Tucci said," is not real, but the spirit of art". That is to say, art works is the author subjective result, writers according to their view of the outside world, experience, understanding and imagination, a new conception of a can express what he considers the spiritual essence of the world pattern. Kafka also said, in his work " is only the image", and even his own" hieroglyphs". Therefore, the expressionist writer, creative means to put his emotions or passions into illusion, the illusion is the author of " internal needs external performance", or is the writers inner experience external projection. Kaiser believed, the reconstruction images of the world vision must become the foundation works. This creation beliefs until after the two World War, still be many western writers to pursue. For example, the famous Swiss writer Dylan Matt thought, drama is" shows a picture of the world". But the idea of such an image and not be an easy job to matter, to Dylan Matt, he must take the material" pounded", so " fermentation", brewing, to turn it into another form of things, a" non image image". C. Abstract generalization. This is the philosophy widely infiltrated literature results, this phenomenon began in the Symbolist movement of expressionism, continue to carry forward, more conscious, more extensive pursuit. It is also on the naturalistic movement keen to petty depicts a backwash. Thomas Mann has pointed out:1914to 1923"world history" in the unprecedented power make contemporary person sharp aware of the needs of the age of knowledge," this process eliminates the science and art of boundaries, the fresh live blood input abstract thinking, make vivid images obtained by the soul, create a kind of special types of work, such work ... ... Can be called intellectual novels." It is a philosophical novel, poetry and drama is not exceptional also, especially the latter. In the late twenty to the early thirty's, almost all German drama genre works, their common characteristic is the strengthening of philosophy.
Chinese calligraphy Pirandello said: "the reason they wrote the script, is because of the feel of a profound spiritual need ... ... More precisely, it is some of the rich philosophical implication author. Unfortunately, I was such a writer." Brecht said more simply:" drama became a philosopher ... ... That is to say, the drama is the philosophical, containing educational meaning." So the German Marx Marxism literature and art critic Hans Kauffman noted:" art outside the field of a large amount of material into the literary thought content, artists need science. If not considering the writers sought to introduce scientific thought artistic fields, and to seek appropriate ways and means, then to twenty in literature in some of the major achievements and innovation factors, will not understand." A bit of good. You see, expressionist stressed the " spirit " refers to the universal, the regularity of things. And this word of Dietz 's representative, he said, to write" not falling stones, but the law of gravity." Products Tucci is another expression : "it's not personal, but common to all things." Expressionist writers generally pursue a so-called" lasting art", the main indications are works of philosophy character.
Revel in the expressionist period German novelist flack had warned:" to use the view to overcome and instead of moving on," to put the things observed through meditation," into the realm of philosophy". Because only the philosophy to grasp things "the law", thus can make the art and lasting. But the works if naked speak philosophy may be bad ( in fact in some works often have a large segment of the philosophy in parenthesis). Thus, metaphor, allegory and symbol expression means is widely used, these in Kafka, de Brin, werfel, Bo Loch, Mu Xier and other writers is the it is often seen. Let me quote a series of the German Academy of Sciences of the USSR" modern literature history" on the description of the phenomenon:" from many writers can be seen, they strive to maximize the shortened from the observation of specific, distinctive image reality phenomenon to make abstract judgment and the wraparound process.
In this way, often can make the plot has the allegorical nature of philosophy, and the characters are as a political and cultural history of the thought of the embodiment of the concept, with a second life. The plot of the philosophical content often with certain historical events, and myth and literature of the past in the traditional plot are compared with each other, to obtain the full performance. Direct content became a metaphor for more general content models. The implication, parable, duality, symbolic become realistic method style constitute important factors." ( here is twenty's" realism", obviously, it has be quite different with the traditional realism. They are actually through expressionism and grafting of variants, some is expressionist works, because a lot of expressionist writer and realist ). Symbolism, metaphor works, because of its" shown in the object are often uncertain, thus to obtain double or ambiguous meaning, its generality than the general narrative works great.
Chinese brush painting As Thomas Mann said of his" Magic Mountain" in the figure at the time said:" every one of them on the body than anything at first glance to, because they are emissaries and representatives, embodies a certain spiritual field." [14] you see toler" change" written by new growth road is broad, people abandoned the character of typical shape, and acting with some idea or emotion code, symbol, often with identity instead of names, such as a driver, principal, cook etc.. Time, location is uncertain: time -- today, place -- the world. </p>

<p>craft stores South of the Five Ridges school is the school of Shanghai following the rise of the system, one of the biggest influences school. Gao Jianfu, Gao Qifeng, founder of Chen Shuren, referred to as the" two high and one chen". It is the culture of South of the Five Ridges to the motherland is one of the features of the excellent culture, it and opera, Guangdong music is called " south of the Five Ridges show three", is a traditional Chinese painting revolutionary, is the Chinese nation in the history of painting is an important national school of painting.
South of the Five Ridges school refers to Guangdong painter consisting of a painting. This painting is in Western art trends of thought under the impact of modern Chinese art, formed stage by stage in the reform movement. "South of the Five Ridges school" focus on painting, a merge of Chinese and Western painting long, by the revolutionary spirit and strong sense of the times of Chinese painting, and maintained the traditional Chinese painting characteristics, to create the spirit of the times, with local characteristics, climate warm, good ink Jin Shuang Hao vertical, bright and colorful, water dripping, halo soft even modern painting new pattern.
In the history of art, a school name, roughly in accordance with the two principles: or by the painter's activity area, or artistic features.
In addition, some also to the artists of some features of the name, such as the Chinese literati painting, foreign tour exhibition pie. As for the Chinese ancient landscape painting " the South"," the north" specific special, it is assigned the Zen Buddhism, also with the South China and North China geological environment, climate characteristics were differentially related.
home decorators Obviously, a "School of South of the Five Ridges ", is in the first principle of life -- region name. It was nothing special. But it is strange, this name was once very make school founder dissatisfied. According to Guan Shanyue said:" at that time, Mr. Chen on the high ' south of the Five Ridges school ' in the title, not satisfied, because it has a narrow region, misleading as the only regional artists group. More important, it can not reflect the absorbing nutrition to the traditional art carry forward the innovation of Chinese painting ideal.
So the sword father has never used the ' south of the Five Ridges school ' of this name, but rather claimed to be ' eclectic '. In his mind, the term ' compromise ', is not for the derogatory sense, just as learn widely from others' strong points, in a body. But long-term since people tend to accept ' south of the Five Ridges school ' of this name, but it has a broad impact, so this name will be written in the modern art history."
Zhao Shiguang said:" when the south of the Five Ridges three style more and more by the welcome, three people again discuss, in south of the Five Ridges created by the school, referred to as the ' south of the Five Ridges school ', according to Wen Gao Jianfu initially did not agree, that the school should not be confined to south of the Five Ridges, Shu explanation -- ' painting from south of the Five Ridges was founded, there is no no outward development. ', finally named the ' south of the Five Ridges school 。
asianwallarts.com If the message is true, then south of the Five Ridges school name makes it a bit" foist one's opinions upon others " flavor -- at least for school founder Gao Jianfu is so. Later, many" pie" is also a division is in Lebanon, such as Ge Min, till sixty time still in the article to argue, think south of the Five Ridges faction of the name" is not appropriate". Today, there are proposals to" restore ' eclectic ' name . </p>

BY SCOTT STIFFLER AND STEPHANIE BUHMANN | Spend a few sweaty mornings watching her work out at Gleason’s Gym, and a picture begins to emerge. Based on the frequent and precise body shots she delivers while sparring with George — whose height and width and natural padding far exceed her own — you wouldn’t peg Jo Ellen Van Ouwerkerk as the type who can spend weeks or even months pursuing satisfaction with the way she’s depicted a face, or struggling to reveal the precise dynamic between a woman and the stuffed kangaroos she’s flanked by.
Good thing then, that the part of herself she pours onto the canvas stretched across a boxing ring can be accessed in seconds. Her eyes see an opening, her brain tells her to make a move. Her hands go to work, and what’s done is done.
That all of this is occurring at a time of the day better suited to fighting the snooze alarm makes her Saturday ritual seem all the more jarring — considering certain assumptions you’ve made based on paintings seen at a Lower East Side gallery long before accepting the invite to see her spar at a Brooklyn boxing gym watched over by a calm presence in the front office (that’d be Bruce, who happens to be Van Ouwerkerk’s husband).
At first glace, you’re tempted to regard what actually makes perfect sense as a jarring contrast: Here’s a person who’s been boxing consistently for the better part of two decades — who, in prior years, brought that sport’s requisite zeal for disciplined routine to the study of Jiu-Jitsu and Seido Karate. So how is it that someone who so readily accesses the decisive moves necessary to land an effective punch is also prone to long bouts of artistic contemplation?
Chinese painting
If she can make a move in the ring — when milliseconds count — why does it take months to reach a point where the women she paints occupy a state of natural grace (often while surrounded by chaotic or unsettling images)? Lizards or flames or birds bound in their hair don’t seem to phase them. Nor does their creator seem particularly concerned when the same studied technique of jab, jab, punch she employs against an opponent is thrown back at her with equal or greater force.
A CERTAIN PLACE AND TIME “Van Ouwerkerk’s paintings, which focus exclusively on the depiction of women, reveal an unusual stylistic blend,” observes Villager art critic Stephanie Buhmann.
“Nineteenth Century portrait photography, the works of Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Edward Burne-Jones, the famous renditions of women by John Graham — as well as the collages of Joseph Cornell — are all reference points. At times, her compositions even pay homage to specific masterpieces, such as Picasso’s harlequins of the Rose Period.
“However, Van Ouwerkerk does not simply follow. With a convincing original outlook, she employs this eclectic vocabulary to portray her subjects in a manner that is at once timeless and contemporary. Meanwhile, Van Ouwerkerk’s compositions range in complexity. Forced into the position of a voyeur, the viewer can encounter her women during intimate moments.
Chinese calligraphy
In Birds Flying Backwards (1980), for example, our gaze seems to be able to penetrate closed doors. We get to study the subject as she finds herself alone and lost in thought. At other times, we observe them as they engage in more complicated scenarios. Some of Van Ouwerkerk’s most ambitious canvases, such as Dancing Skeletons (1999), depict multiple figures. In these works, women are forced to co-exist in one picture plane, yet without clear relations or interactions. Van Ouwerkerk provides snapshots rather than narratives.</p>
<p>“In this body of work, there are no unfolding storylines. The women we encounter are simply there, without a past or the insinuation of a future. Van Ouwerkerk, so one gathers, does not aim to lure us into mysterious lands. Instead, she guides our gaze inward. By confronting us with her detached figures, who do not reveal emotions, she makes us self-conscious. Most importantly, she makes us aware of our own place and time.”
Chinese brush painting
MAKING THE ARTIST/ATHLETE CONNECTION “We exchange Christmas and birthday gifts. We’re really friends,” Van Ouwerkerk says of Administrative Law Judge Philip Maier — who teaches business ethics at NYU when, presumably, he’s not in the ring. It’s another perfectly logical incongruity, that notion of gifting the guy who spends pretty much every Saturday crafting new and exciting ways to hit you.</p>

After The Quake, Japanese Shop For Survival
craft stores
Walk into any large Japanese retailer nowadays, and you might think Japan had become a nation of survivalists.
Aeon, a Wal-Mart-like chain of stores, devotes a sizable chunk of floor space to something called bosai-yohin, or "disaster-protection gear."
Naoto Higashi, a manager at one of the Tokyo stores, demonstrates some of their best-sellers, flashlights that have become the Swiss Army knives of anti-earthquake gear.
"This light ... doesn't need batteries. It's very compact. You just wind it up. It also flashes, as an emergency light, and you can use it as a lantern, too," he says.
Mind-Boggling Choice
There are flashlights that do triple duty as radios and cellphone chargers, and light bulbs that store up power while in use. In a blackout, just pull the light bulb out of its socket, and it lights up off its own charge for three hours.
"These slippers have steel soles. These protect your feet from broken glass. It's a huge hit since the disaster last year," Higashi says.
The assortment of disaster goods — meant to keep people alive for several days — is mind-boggling. There are chemical packs for warming up food, and other chemicals, packed in drink-size bottles, which can be thrown into fires to extinguish them
Aeon sells specially sealed biscuits, rice and even beef curry — which is supposed to be good until 2017. There are helmets that fold up, protection kits for pets, as well as fully stocked kits for humans, tucked into backpacks and designed to be stored under beds. But those are so popular, there's a waiting list.
Housewife Nao Mita has already stockpiled emergency rations and a portable toilet but is prowling the aisles for more gear.
home decorators
"We're not getting as many quakes now, but whenever one hits, I get nervous, and think, I need to get supplies ready," she says.
Preparing For The Big One
These slippers have steel soles. These protect your feet from broken glass. It's a huge hit since the disaster last year.
- Naoto Higashi, manager of a Tokyo store that sells disaster protection gear
Mita is in good company. Ever since last year's earthquake and tsunami, a steady drumbeat of warnings from seismologists predicts the worst is yet to come.
Tokyo University says there's a 70 percent chance of a major earthquake hitting the nation's capital in the next few years, and scientists recently announced that a confluence of quakes south of Tokyo could unleash enough force to knock down city skyscrapers.
A recent survey showed two-thirds of Japanese have armed themselves with some kind of disaster gear. Rie Sakakibara, who works for a health services firm in Tokyo, is among them.
She has an emergency blanket, snacks, a flashlight she always wears around her neck, a cellphone, a smartphone — plus five extra phones — and lots of batteries.
In fact, her emergency grab bag easily weighs 20 pounds. Traumatized by last year's disasters and the panicky aftermath, Sakakibara has sworn off high heels and fashion in favor of flats and comfortable clothing — in case the trains stop again and she ends up stranded.
But not everyone buys into the buying craze. In fact, at least one survivor of the deadly Kobe earthquake of 1995 says the obsession with buying supplies is a waste of money for urban residents, who are never more than a day away from help.
asianwallarts.com
Instead of investing in helmets and dried food, he told readers of his website that city dwellers should focus on how to keep their furniture from crushing them alive when, and if, the big one hits.</p>

China Super Rich Use Boom Money To Open Their Own Art Museums
famous paintings
HONG KONG -- Over the past two years Wang Wei and her husband Liu Yiqian dropped a reported $317 million on their hobby. Now they need somewhere to display the collection they've amassed. The solution: a private art museum that Wang hopes will impart some class to China's flashy nouveau riche.
Wang and billionaire investor Liu are part of a new generation of wealthy Asians that is better known for splashing out on extravagant toys such as private jets, mega-sized yachts and supercars. Some, instead, have built big art collections and now aspire to showcase their refined sensibility to a wider audience.
The trend is most apparent in China, where entrepreneurs who have gotten rich off the country's booming economy have been splurging on art, making it the world's biggest fine art market last year for the second year in a row.
As China's best known art collectors, Wang and her husband spent nearly 2 billion yuan ($317 million) on art in the past two years, according to a report in the state-run China Daily that quoted Wang. She declined to confirm the figure, and said "I do not like to talk about how much I spent."
Wang's 10,000 square meter (107,640 square foot) "Long" museum is scheduled to open in Shanghai in late October and will cost 10 million yuan ($1.6 million) a year to run. Aside from giving her a space to show off her collection of Chinese revolutionary and contemporary art, Wang said it will also help her give her nouveau riche compatriots a cultural education.
"The rich housewives have money but do not know how to spend it without shopping," she said. "I want to teach them to be more tasteful."
Chinese painting
With that goal in mind, one museum is not enough for Wang. She is planning a second Shanghai museum that will start construction in August and open in October 2013.
More are in the pipeline. Indonesian-Chinese farming tycoon Budi Tek is set to open the De Museum in Shanghai next year featuring Asian and Western contemporary art, after opening his first in Indonesia's capital Jakarta in 2008.
Tek's museum will be located in an old aircraft hangar across the river from the site of the World Expo site in Shanghai's Pudong district, on land that the government is giving to him at a preferential rate. Tek will cover the cost of renovating the building and adding extra wings as well as annual operating costs. He wouldn't say how much he plans to spend, but said "the operating costs will be expensive, buying works will be expensive."
Collector Guan Yi is planning one on the outskirts of Beijing, according to art publications. Industry insiders say wealthy collectors are planning museums around China.
Sustainability is a big issue for would-be museum owners, who need deep pockets to deal with costs, said Magnus Renfrew, director of Art HK, Hong Kong's annual art fair.
"It's many millions of dollars for construction or refurbishment, and that's even before you've got to the art and before you get to the staffing and ongoing costs" said Renfrew. "It's not for the faint hearted."
A growing interest in philanthropy is one reason behind the private museum boomlet. Rapid growth is creating thousands of new millionaires in Asia each year. Their ranks grew to 3.3 million in 2011, surpassing Europe for the first time, according to Merrill Lynch and Capgemini. Between January last year and March this year, China's top 100 philanthropists donated $1.6 billion, according to the Hurun Report, a Chinese rich list. That's about a fivefold increase from 2004 when the list started.
But it also recalls earlier periods in the U.S. and Europe when wealthy art patrons helped build museums that are now world renowned.
Chinese calligraphy
In the late 19th century, British sugar magnate Henry Tate help fund the construction of a building to house his collection of Victorian art that he donated to the country, paving the way for the network of renowned museums that bear his name. Members of U.S. oil industrialist John D. Rockefeller's family helped found New York's famed Museum of Modern Art in 1929. Businessman Solomon Guggenheim is best remembered for the iconic New York museum his foundation set up in 1939, which was later named after him.
"It's a complex issue," said Philip Dodd, organizer of the Hong Kong art fair's first private museum forum last year.
"Why did Medici commission so much art? Why did the Vatican commission Michelangelo? Was it philanthropy or was it an exercise of power and display and spectacle? I think all those things are involved in Asia too," said Dodd.
Some 40 private museum owners and collectors from Australia, Japan, Indonesia and China are expected to attend this year's private museum forum at the fair, which will be held May 17-20.
Tek acknowledged that vanity and ego played a role when he started building his art collection, but now he has reverted to what he terms a modest lifestyle. He says his only extravagance is flying first class and he doesn't wear fancy watches or clothes and avoids giving too many media interviews.
"The action of opening the museum is an extension of love to society," said Tek, who is president of Sierad Produce, a $155 million company listed on the Jakarta stock exchange.
"When you see MoMA, with flocks of people everyday, I'm a little bit jealous," said Tek, referring to New York's Museum of Modern Art.
Tek, Wang and other wealthy collectors have turned Hong Kong into the world's third biggest auction hub as they build up their collections of contemporary Chinese art. That segment has boomed in recent years but softened lately.
Gallery owners say choosy buyers have tired of the same artists coming up for sale and are focusing on longer established names. In contrast, during the 1980s Japan bubble, that country's rich were buying up Impressionist masterpieces, Picassos and other Western art.
In the autumn of 2010, Tek paid $6.7 million at a Hong Kong auction for a painting of a yellow baby by Chinese surrealist painter Zhang Xiaogang entitled "Chapter of a New Century Birth of the People's Republic of China II."
In early April, he slipped into Hong Kong again. After an interview with The Associated Press he attended a Sotheby's auction of contemporary Asian art, but stayed in the VIP room to avoid being seen by other bidders.
Chinese brush painting
That sale's highlight was another work by Zhang, a family portrait called "Bloodline-Big Family No. 2." Amid furious bidding, it went to a phone bidder for 46 million Hong Kong dollars ($6 million), three times the opening price.
Sotheby's said the painting and another by Fang Lijun that sold for HK$25 million ($3.2 million) are destined for a private collector's museum in Shanghai. A spokeswoman for Tek wouldn't confirm or deny whether he was the buyer</p>

Tapping into the booming craft beer business
home decorators
MINNEAPOLIS - The history of beer brewed in Minnesota dates back well before prohibition. Back then it was hand poured, bottled and shipped - much like Lucid Brewing of Minnetonka does today.
Owners Eric Biermann and Jon Messier quit their jobs back in June of 2011 hoping to tap into the growing success of craft beer. Bierman was an international accountant and Messier an aerospace engineer.
"We call this Cammo; it's nine percent alcohol, double pale ale," said Biermann while wrapping the label on a bottle of Lucid's new beer.
It's the first bottled venture for the two. They raised $400,000 to build a brewery in an unassuming business complex in Minnetonka. They've sold kegs before, but Cammo is the first batch to hit store shelves.
"Definitely taken us longer to fill the bottles and ship them out the door than it is to actually sell the bottles," explained Bierman.
The suds do sell. They simply cannot brew it fast enough. Sales entail the plainest of phone pitches.
"Would you be interested in sampling it and carrying it on your shelves?" that's the question Biermann asks when calling liquor stores, "And we have like a 90 percent success rate with that little schpeel."
A few hours of calls and the demand for beer brewed in our own backyard is so great stores purchase it taste and sight unseen.
"We're at capacity; we're selling it as fast as we can make it right now," said Kevin Welch of Boom Island Brewing Company.
The boon can be found at Boom Island as well. Kevin Welch is one mean brewing machine. Tucked away in a corner office building in north Minneapolis, Boom Island also brews, bottles and labels every batch. Four months in and Welch is totally tapped in.
"We've just hit the ground running and I can't slow down that's why I'm here until midnight tonight," said Welch.
craft stores
Boom Island and Lucid are two of the 12 new breweries in the state to open last year. It brings the total number of breweries in Minnesota to 43 and counting.
"I think it's just going to get bigger and bigger," added Brian Lonberg of Barley John's Brew Pub in New Brighton.
The growth is thanks in part to brewpubs like Barley John's, which opened 12 years ago and has been able to tap into its own craft beer success.
But despite craft beer's growing popularity, Minnesota lags behind other states with similar populations.
"You go to the city of Portland, absolutely every bar, brewpub you go to is serving nothing but craft beer," explained Jason Alvey of The Four Firkins craft beer store.
The city of Portland alone has 40 breweries. And, in 2011, the state of Oregon counted more than 150 craft breweries. Brewing is big business in Colorado as well, where there are more than a 100 breweries - twice the amount of Minnesota today.
"At one point before prohibition Minnesota like almost every other state - had hundreds of breweries - in fact they're were over four hundred, little tiny regional breweries," described Alvey.
It's a history Alvey says is proof that Minnesota is a prime spot for more breweries.
Four Firkins only sells craft beer. No wine, no hard liquor. Only brown bottles in the 22 ounce variety or by the six pack.
"It was just a matter of time until people realized that beer doesn't have to be yellow fizzy stuff with no flavor," said Alvey.
These days, with more flavorful beers and more selection, it seems like there is an endless stream of people who are just getting into it.
Add Minnesota to the list of the growing craft beer popularity, built on the state's history of beer brewed, bought and sold locally.
asianwallarts.com
Lucid Brewing is making a limited edition Saison that will be available in June. Through a contest run on KARE 11's Twitter and Facebook pages, the name Summertide was chosen as a name for the beer. Part of the proceeds raised from the beer's sales will be donated to a local non-profit organization. More information about Summertide will be posted on kare11.com when it becomes available.</p>

These people often lets a person can't see the creation of true or false.
In 1989, a 19 year old boy at Rhodes Island skate shop, to a French wrestler as a prototype, has created a facial feature advertising posters, named" big Andrew", and with the sentence too profound to be understood at the" Andrew the giant has a militia regiment". Brooklyn Museum of modern art gallery's permanent collection includes another American artist 's house" (Swoon ). A kind of urban art is by far the most attention in the field of art, this is what a surprising twist.
Love Andean slope, the agent of Ge Miaosi, Michael, and80graffiti artist Keyes Harry English ( Keith Haring ) works in Manhattan agents Jeffrey Dai Qi ( Jeffrey Deitch ) said," I found long art circles to not follow conventional, not to buy art curator and writer / artist has a kind of bias," but he also reiterated, now this view began to change," now some young Museum of art curator began in the artists in the street creation or were preparing for what to do when tracking them."
This does not mean that the street artists not pure art origin, on the contrary, many of them have in the art school, although they did not get a master's degree in art. These artists in their own way opens up through the art gallery to Museum Road, such as Losangeles's impression of the new museum of Art ( New Image Art ) and Marie Kano Si base Museum of Art ( Merry Karnowsky ), London, Raza Reed Museum of Art ( Lazarides ), New York Jonathan Le Wang Theme Pavilion ( Jonathan LeVine ) and Dai Qi Pavilion ( Deitch Projects ) and so on, the Museum of art to help these street artists in the bottleneck when hone their creation.
asianwallarts.com In the Dai Qi Museum of art, this house well put all her complex felt type portraiture to expand to become a description of urban landscape and living of residents in three-dimensional scenery art. The same Michael, now being recognized, because the interior space is converted to become bright and has a geometric pattern metope, inverted the car and has a folk art style of the drowsy people style. </p>

<p>Chinese painting " Ultimatum" to J C Chen Dole directed a film. The film tells the story of the 2008economic collapse within 24 hours, in an investment bank employees the story. Simon Beck plays a tough be full of go stockbroker, do not use any means for the benefit of customers. Paul Bettany as a business tycoon in the top of the food chain, to cause the financial crisis intensifies, be fearless and shameless. This is one of the economic collapse Eve colored characters in the story, calm lens describes the United States Wall Street huge storm causes, reflect on the consequences of human greed.
The film takes place in the Wall Street in New York, the time is in 2008the outbreak of the economic crisis. More precisely, the story takes place in a bank's internal, time they have to declare bankruptcy declaration before 24hours. After reviewing all the information, young analyst Peter Sullivan suddenly realized that the company 's property assessment has a big loophole. That is to say, an error, or planned business decision making company steps forward dimension difficult: the investment bank bought a large number of securities, but now issued the securities themselves become worthless ), will lead to the bankruptcy of banks.
famous paintings Discovered this, the company's senior night meeting, hope to study strategy to save the company. The rich experience of the stock broker, Sam Rogers, his boss Judd Cohen, financial analyst Sara Robertson came to the meeting site. And is the manager of the company John steward also sitting helicopter out. Conference decision, the bank must be at a very low price to sell these securities not to be worth a hair. The company's senior on the upcoming financial risk can be fearless, and shameless. They are in the very next day the stock market open, will throw all the" bad assets". Thus, although the investment bank can be temporarily safe, but can cause a series of chain reaction, the ultimate doom will come to the investment bank's head.
Creative background
A movie in few scenes and intense conflict, but it occurred within 24 hours, so the script story, conflict is the setting for films would attract people's key. Shi Tan Lee of Qi said:" this is a small independent film, this also means that this movie will have a out of the ordinary play, and this is I often need and looking for something. When my assistant story to me, I started reading it. Half an hour later, I simply cannot put it down.
Chinese calligraphy The script in the shape of the world is that I never touched, never aware of the financial sector. But Dole Chen script is so true, people can not not sure which contains about financial crisis and the financial sector 's Secret script. The script character is not vulgar, don't kick up a cloud of dust, everything seems so random and real. For the script, I couldn't be satisfied."
For his script, J C Chen Dole confidence, he said:" for some young filmmakers, prepared a shooting script is the most important, if the write a stunt is the highlight of the play, but no money to shoot, then write the script is not meaning of. This is a very real problem, because it involves a person to work the problem. We have no way to request an actor to take on three months of film, only the quick shoot is suitable for this small cost movies." Jeremy Irons said:" this play is the key that attracted me to the production crew filming, because in my view, I think the script I on a new filmmakers interested. His script to us from an insider's perspective to explain the reason for the financial crisis what is the reason, many people do not know. From this story, I learned that one should understand and respect for others to live their dignity.
Chinese brush painting So, I am very glad to participate in this film. Also, I work with my good friends, such as Shi Tan Lee of Qi and Demi Moore such distinguished actors. I am most excited, J C Dole Chen of the film was shot quickly, my part in2 days of time to be finished, which for a small cost movies, is very important, because this film should be quick, do things sloppily shooting will only make movies and director dragged to death. </p>

Philippines warned over island dispute
impasse over Huangyan Island, and authorities say they are prepared for any escalation of the situation by Manila.
Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Fu Ying on Monday summoned Alex Chua, charge d'affaires of the Philippine embassy in Beijing. It was the third summons following previous ones on April 15 and 18.
louis vuitton handbags
Analysts said the Monday summon shows the strongest protest from Beijing against Manila's rival claims over China's territorial island since the island impasse started on April 10.
Despite the two summons last month, "the Philippine side has not realized that it is making serious mistakes and instead is stepping up efforts to escalate tensions", said the vice-minister.
Manila's moves are "severely damaging the atmosphere of the bilateral relations between China and the Philippines", Fu said. "Therefore it is hard for us to be optimistic about the situation."
Manila has been playing with fire and trying to push the bottom line of Beijing, and the Monday summon serves as a sturdy protest against Manila's recent provocations, said Yang Baoyun, a professor of Southeast Asian studies at Peking University.
"The neighboring countries' decisions to not take sides on the issue show that the Philippine's territorial claim has received little support. Now the Philippines also finds it hard to change its stance overnight," Yang said.
Huangyan Island has been an integral part of China's territory for centuries, and Beijing expects louis vuitton handbags outlet
Manila not to misjudge the situation and not to "escalate tensions without considering the consequences".
On Tuesday, Beijing also slammed Manila's recent attempts to raise the island dispute before international tribunals as well as some remarks that called on judgment from a third party.</p>
